Father Persecuted to Death, Son Imprisoned

Mr. Li Wensheng, a Falun Gong practitioner from Zhucheng County in Shandong Province, was detained at the Changle Forced Labour Camp for three years, because he went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practise Falun Gong in October 2000. Although Mr. Li was released in 2004, he could not stay in his home due to brutal harassment from the police. He was forced to work temporary jobs outside his village.

Mr. Li was again arrested by police in Zhucheng last May and held at the Zhucheng Detention Centre for almost one year. He was secretly sentenced last month, then taken to Jinan Prison and subjected to further persecution.
