Mr. Liu Yong from the Xihu District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province was arrested on the evening of June 9th, 2010. His whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Liu Yong stays with his grandmother, who is in her eighties, in the Taohua Residential area to take care of her. Six police officers led by Zeng Qiuping, who is the Taohua Community Neighbourhood Committee head, and officer Xiong Liqing from the Taoyuan Police Station drove to Mr. Liu's grandmother's home with a locksmith around 10:00 p.m. on June 9th. They unlocked the outside door and entered the house without Mr. Liu and his grandmother noticing. The police took Mr. Liu into custody, ransacked the house, and left with a computer, two printers, a CD burner, a DVD player, CDs, and other personal property.
Mr. Liu's grandmother, along with his mother, in her sixties, and his wife went to the Taoyuan Police Station, as well as the Taohua Community Committee, the Qingshanhu Police Department in Nanchang City and other places to find out about his circumstances. They are worried that Mr. Liu may be subjected to torture, and anxiously look forward to seeing him home.
We learned that Mr. Liu was once held at the Provincial Foreign Trade Hostel, on Dingshan Road in Qingyunpu. Further information about him is not available.
