Mr. Yang Kaijun, a 50-year-old Falun Gong practitioner in Qian'an City, Hebei Province, was arrested at around 9:00 a.m. on June 24th, 2010. His mother, already in her eighties, held onto the police van trying to stop it. The police dragged the old lady along the ground for a long distance.
Pu Yonglai, an officer from the Qian'an Police Department, led more than ten people to Mr. Yang's home on the morning of June 23rd, 2010. The couple was not at home, and only Mr. Yang's mother, who is in her eighties, was there. The police started to search the entire house, even ransacking Mr. Yang's daughter's suitcase. They did so without consent and without showing any proper paperwork. They took Mr. Yang's desktop computer and a laptop computer using the excuse of having to investigate. Mr. Yang's mother tried to stop them, but failed. She was very upset and fainted on the floor.
On the following day, Pu Yonglai and other plainclothes police returned at around 9:00 a.m. and hid near Mr. Yang's home. Immediately after Mr. Yang entered his home, Pu Yonglai rushed in with several other police officers. After locking the door from inside, they grabbed Mr. Yang, handcuffed him, and forcibly carried him to the police van.
After hearing her husband calling aloud, his wife and mother ran out. His mother stood in front of the police van to block it. Pu Yonglai ordered the driver to back the van up and Mr. Yang's mother held onto it. After being dragged along the ground for a distance, the elderly lady could no longer hold onto the van and lost her grip. When she stood up and ran after the van again, the police sped away, nearly running over her.
Mr. Yang is now detained at Qian'an Detention Centre.
