Falun Gong Practitioner Li Xiaodi Arrested

Li Xiaodi, a Falun Gong practitioner from Nanbao Kaifa District, Tangshan City, was arrested by Communist Party members at her workplace, and by agents from the local Public Security Bureau while she was at work on June 23rd, 2010.

On June 22nd, while Ms. Li was working hard at the Cafeteria of the Fourth Team's Living Section in Jidong Prison, Cheng Weimin, the Living Section leader, suddenly notified her that she has been transferred to the day shift. When she asked why, Cheng referred her to Li Jihua, the Disciplinary Committee secretary. Ms. Li then asked Li Jihua the same question. She was very rude with Ms. Li and did not answer her question.

On the afternoon of June 23rd, Ms. Li was working as usual when Zhang Nansheng from the Living Section said that her supervisor wanted to speak with her. Zhang had lied to her, and as Ms. Li followed her into the building she saw Li Jihua, Political Office Chief Wang Yongquan, and Li Quan from the Kaifa District National Protection Team waiting for her. They tried to take her but Ms. Li refused. Li Jihua then said, "If she doesn't want to come, just carry her." They grabbed Ms. Li, carried her by force into a car, and took her to the division bureau.

Ms. Li was transferred to Changningdao Detention Centre at around 9:00 p.m.

The next day, at the same time, four men from the Kaifa District Public Security Bureau broke into Ms. Li's home. They took her personal computer, a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong, Mr. Li Hongzhi, and other materials that explained the truth about Falun Gong.

Ms. Li is still being detained in custody.
