Belgium: Practitioners Gather in Brussels to Protest Eleven Years of Persecution

European Falun Gong practitioners held a series of activities on July 17, 2010, in Brussels, to protest the brutal persecution in China. Since July 20, 1999, the CCP has brutally persecuted Falun Gong practitioners who believe in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. During the past eleven years, Falun Gong practitioners have been protesting the persecution peacefully.

On the evening of July 17, Falun Gong practitioners convened at the Chinese Embassy in Brussels. They held up banners that read, "Falun Dafa is Great," "The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," "The CCP Must Stop Persecuting Falun Gong," and "The Persecution Can Only Be Stopped by Disintegrating the CCP." A recording about how Chinese people and people around the world have protested the persecution was broadcast via loudspeaker.

The activity drew the attention of local residents. One lady who lives near the embassy loves to travel around the world, and has seen Falun Gong practitioners in front of the embassy and in other parts of the world, "I know that there are millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China, that they are wonderful people, and that if they continue their effort in protesting the persecution in this way, the situation will change bit by bit."

Gathering in Downtown Brussels

The large rally at 1 p.m. was held in the open space in front of the stock exchange. During the gathering, Mr. Nicholas, Director of the Brussels Falun Dafa Association, read letters from two Vice Presidents of the European Parliament and other political leaders who expressed support for Falun Gong. They offered their concern and support to this activity. The commissioner from Amnesty International on issues about China also came to make a speech.

Mr. Wu Wenxin, director of the European Falun Dafa Association, gives a speech, "This is the eleventh year of the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. We call to the attention of all people that the persecution of Falun Gong is still ongoing."

Ms. Guan from Finland experienced the persecution in China, "The CCP forced me into a divorce and fired me. I was a teacher. I was imprisoned for three years for practicing Falun Gong. Several Falun Dafa practitioners that I know were beaten to death. I hope that all governments and people can stand up to help stop this inhumane persecution."

Practitioner Li Jingyu from France was tormented by leukemia, but her illness vanished when she began practicing Falun Gong. After the CCP began to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, her practice environment was completely destroyed. After attending today's activities, she was touched and said, "In China there is no way to have group practice in the park like this. The environment is very vicious. Sometimes when you read a Falun Gong book at home, a spy or policeman will show up and take away your property for no reason. In other countries, it is not like this. The practice environment is completely the opposite."

Ms. Pan said, "Now 77 million Chinese people both in China and abroad have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. This shows that Chinese people are waking up. As long as Chinese people can understand the CCP's brutality and its deceptive nature, they will take the initiative to quit."

At the rally, the Divine Land Marching Band boosted the energy of those opposing the persecution. Their performance drew in a large number of local people as well as tourists who were visiting the area. Among them were tourists from China.

One couple said, "Your activity moves us. We hope that all you do will succeed."

A couple of French tourists were deeply moved by the activity on the scene. The husband said, "The music of the band is very good. The whole activity brings about a very positive effect. Your activity has moved me a lot, I hope that all you do will succeed. Of course, we wish to give you unlimited support. We hope that this sort of activity will be held everywhere."

Brussels resident Geremadi said with excitement, "Upon seeing so many people come here because of this big human rights problem in China, I think this is very good. In China there is no freedom. It is very important for people to enjoy freedom and know their real situation."

Tourists from China took photos of this historic event. One female tourist who had brought her child abroad for sightseeing said, "This is my first time seeing this magnificent event of Falun Gong practitioners abroad. Actually I don't like the CCP even one bit."
