On the afternoon of August 8, 2010, practitioners in the UK once again took part in the opening cavalcade of the world's largest arts festival, the Edinburgh Festival. According to the organizer, more than 100,000 people watched the parade. This year was the ninth year that UK Falun Gong practitioners took part.

Since 2002, Falun Dafa practitioners have taken part in the Edinburgh arts festival every year. In the photo from The Scotsman report was the Falun Dafa contingent's silk fan dance team, with the caption, "Dancers from Falun Dafa, regulars since 2002, add a vibrant touch to the Edinburgh Festival Calvalcade yesterday."
Joe lives in Edinburgh, and he comes to see the arts festival parade every year. Joe told the reporters excitedly: "The impression they [The Falun Gong contingent] give us is very deep, and exceedingly good.
