Switzerland: Buchs Residents Express Shock and Disbelief at the Persecution of Falun Gong

To celebrate its 200th anniversary of the city's founding, the Swiss city of Buchs held a series of outdoor cultural activities every Friday and Saturday from May to September. On September 17 and 18, the residents of Buchs learned about a spiritual practice rooted in China's traditional culture: Falun Dafa.

Practitioners showed a video entitled "Good and Evil". The video was in Chinese with German subtitles. Many in the audience asked for more information about Falun Dafa and the persecution.

A man named Walter watched the video on the 17th and came back to learn the exercises on the 18th. He was very excited and said that the exercises were good for him. "I can't imagine why they would want to suppress such a good practice, especially it is beneficial to people's health," said Walter.

The video reminded Walter of the persecution of Christianity. He said, "Jesus wanted to bring peace and goodness to mankind but he was put on a cross. The very first group of Christians was persecuted. I can't believe such thing still happens today. It is unreal, as if mankind has not advanced at all."

Walter was shocked to learn that the Chinese regime harvests living Falun Gong practitioners' organs for profit. "This should stop immediately. Our government should speak up to stop it because us people are definitely against such kind of crime. It is absurd."

A man named Jurg learned about the activity from a practitioner by the name of Nicolai. He said he did not know what Falun Gong truly is, and had been deceived by the Chinese regime's propaganda. "I went online yesterday and found out what Falun Gong really is. Nicolai also told me a lot about the persecution. Now I think positively of Falun Gong," said Jurg.

Jurg's wife is from Japan. After learning the exercises, she said that she felt very good and relaxed. She felt that her body and mind had become one. "I can't understand why China persecutes such a good practice that benefits people's body and mind." Jurg agreed, "The persecution of Falun Dafa is groundless."

A woman named Christine also felt very comfortable after learning the exercises. She had never heard of Falun Dafa before and could not understand why the CCP persecutes it. "(The persecution) is horrible and shocking, especially when the Chinese government initially supported the practice because of its healing power," said Christine. "People should speak out to help stop the persecution because it involves so many people's basic human rights."
