Mr. Zhu Lijun Sentenced to 13 Years of Imprisonment in 2002, His Current Situation Unknown

Mr. Zhu Lijun is a resident of Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province. In 2002 he was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment. He is currently in Hulan Prison, and his situation there is unknown.

On the afternoon of February 22nd, 2002, Mr. Zhu Lijun and practitioners Ms. Gao Jingyun and Ms. Gu Yarong were making Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution when the police stormed in and arrested them. It was said that the police had been following them for two weeks.

The police handcuffed Mr. Zhu to the bedpost. Policeman Liu Weizhong then grabbed Gu Yarong by her clothes and threw her against the wall. Gao Jingyun was forced into a corner against the wall. The police took the photocopier, printing supplies, and banners from the home. Thereafter they incarcerated the three practitioners at the Harbin Police Department.

At the police department, the officers interrogated the practitioners and used torture devices on them. Policeman Liu Weizhong took a studded leather belt (used by firemen) to hit Mr. Zhu. Liu Weizhong and the driver of Ren Jiangsheng used a water hose to spray water at Gao Jingyun's head. They also slapped her. Police head (at that time) Luan Zhongshan instigated the driver and mailman to put handcuffs on Gu Yarong. They forcefully pressed her legs apart one metre and pressed her head down to the ground. They also slapped her.

At around 1:00 a.m. the next day, the police sent the three practitioners to Zhaodong Detention Centre.

They were incarcerated there for four months. Gao Jingyun and Gu Yarong were sentenced to three years of imprisonment and were sent to Heilongjiang Province Women's Forced Labour Camp in Harbin City. They have been released since then. Mr. Zhu Lijun was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment and is still incarcerated at Hulan Prison.

Policemen and other personnel who participated in the arrest are as follows: Ren Jiansheng (current police station chief), Liu Weizhong (working at the detention centre), Yang Yifeng (deputy police head), Zhao Renwu (610 Office personnel), and their drivers, mailman, and a dozen other policemen.
