Ms. Jiang Yunqiu from Huaihua City, Hunan Province Persecuted at a Brainwashing Centre

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiang Yunqiu lives in Zhongfang County, Huaihua City, Hunan Province. Local 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) arrested her on October 13th, 2010 and detained her in a brainwashing facility. When Ms. Jiang was released on November 12th, she was in a confused mental state, and has not yet been able to recover.

Eighteen people broke into a shop run by Ms. Jiang on October 13th. They confiscated all of her Falun Gong books, and forcibly took Ms. Jiang to a brainwashing facility. These people were Zhongfang County 610 Office head Li Weidong, Domestic Security Division agent Zhang Wenyong, Tiepo Police Station head Lin Anping, Tiepo Military Department head Chen Shenglong, and personnel from the Tiepo Township government.

In an attempt to break her will, two collaborators¹ were assigned to constantly monitor Ms. Jiang, and every other day they attempted to indoctrinate her with Chinese Communist propaganda. Ms. Jiang kept telling them the facts about the regime's persecution of practitioners. Twenty days after her detention began, officer Li Weidong kept returning twice a day and threatening Ms. Jiang with sentencing her to a prison term if she refused to sign a document to renounce her belief in Falun Gong. She refused, and was given food laced with unknown drugs. Soon after, she started trembling all over, became nauseated and kept vomiting. As soon as officer Li walked out of her room, she was no longer able to stand steadily and felt numb all over. Afterwards, Ms. Jiang fell unconscious for seven days.

Rather than torture with instruments, Ms. Jiang was dragged out to be exposed to the sun every day, as the officials were afraid that her family would hold them responsible if she died. While Ms. Jiang was in a confused mental state, her captors held her fingers and forcibly put her fingerprint on a so-called "repentance statement" to renounce practising Falun Gong.

Officer Chen Shenglong drove Ms. Jiang to a bus station on November 12th, and put her on a bus heading for Longtan. When Ms. Jiang got off at Tiepo, her younger sister carried her off the bus. After returning home, Ms. Jiang was in a confused state of mind, and needed help just to walk. She was unable to take care of herself.
