Two Elderly Women Practitioners from Zhongyuan Oil Field Arrested

Two elderly practitioners, Ms. Jin Runhua and Ms. Han Yongshu, left home together at noon on December 22nd. By dinner time that day they still had not returned to their homes. Their families were so worried about them that they made many phone calls to try to find them. Not until around 9:00 p.m. that night when Zhongyuan Oil Field Security Section officers came to Ms. Jin's home to ransack it did Ms. Jin's family learn that their loved one had been arrested and detained. Those participating in the home ransacking included officers from the Liutun Police Station and from the Puyang County Police Department.

The ruthless officers seized Ms. Jin's computer, printer, Falun Gong informational materials, cash and other personal property.

At around 8:00 a.m. on December 23rd, two police vehicles stopped on the road, on the west side of Ms. Jin's home. They came to ransack her home a second time. According to Ms. Jin's neighbours, they seized Ms. Jin's personal property totalling more than 100 thousand yuan¹.

Ms. Jin Runhua, in her 60s, is a retired employee from the Zhongyuan Oil Field's Underground Special Operations Division. She used to suffer from many illnesses, but her physical and mental condition improved greatly after she practised Falun Gong, and she now looks much younger than her age. Many officials who work in the Underground Operations Division had a favourable impression of Falun Gong after witnessing the changes in her.

Such a kind elderly woman, has been subjected to persecution numerous times at the hands of officers from the Zhongyuan Oil Field 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), the Public Security Division and officers from the Underground Security Section. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, because she appealed for justice for Falun Gong, Ms. Jin has been subjected to harassment and residential surveillance many times by the officers from the Underground Security Section. Nevertheless she remained steadfast in her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Many people and co-workers who have met her or got to know her witnessed her unselfishness and compassion, and know that the CCP wrongfully persecutes Falun Gong.

Ms. Han Yongshu, in her 60s, is the relative of a retired underground oil field employee. She initially took up Falun Gong because of her poor health and because she suffered from many illnesses. The practice enabled her to experience tremendous improvements to her health and spiritual well being.

We have learned that the two elderly practitioners were arrested on the evening of December 22nd, while they were talking with people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Liutun Town Police Station made the arrest. They are currently in the Puyang County Detention Centre.
