In the early afternoon on August 16th, 2010, the Mancheng County 610 office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), police station, and the Domestic Security Bureau ransacked Falun Gong practitioners’ houses and arrested them.
All the police officers wore plain clothes, with Liu Guishuang leading the way. They broke into practitioners’ houses with no legal documents, taking away their personal belongings and arresting them. It is now confirmed that nine practitioners were arrested on August 16th and another practitioner fell unconscious and was taken to the hospital in the process of being arrested. These practitioners’ family members were also persecuted to different degrees.
Following are some details of the persecution.
Ms. Zhao Zhiyun, a practitioner from Bailong Township, Mancheng County, was living in the Yining Community. While she was taking care of her nephew’s child on the afternoon of August 16th, several policemen broke into her house, saying that they wanted to ask her something at the police station. She said she had to watch the baby and they could ask her in her house instead of the police station. Those policemen tried to take her by force, and she lost consciousness in the process. They then began to ransack her house with no legal documents. They tried to take the computer that her son used for college, but her family didn’t give in. They sent three policemen to watch her in the hospital.
Mr. Shi Chunlai, a practitioner from Liangyu Village, Yaozhuang Township, Mancheng County, was arrested by Ma Zhanying, the leader of Yaozhuang Police Station and his people on the afternoon of August 16th. They arrested him when he had just arrived home from work. His house was ransacked. Now he is being persecuted in the Mancheng County Detention Centre.
Ms. Ma Lijuan, a practitioner from Chengdong Village, Chengguan Town, Mancheng County, worked in a restaurant. As she arrived home from work on the afternoon of August 16th, several policemen led by Cao Chaowei ransacked her house, and then arrested and took her to the Mancheng County Detention Centre. On August 18th, the police sent her to the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labour Camp without notifying her family. She was in a lot of pain, and her blood pressure reached 240, so the camp would not accept her. The Domestic Security Division and 610 Office of Mancheng County had to send her back home.
On the afternoon of August 16th, Ms. Sun Yuhuang, a practitioner from Xiazikou Village, Daceying Township, Mancheng County, spoke to someone who claimed to be listening to her talk about the facts about Falun Gong. Soon after, a bunch of police officers broke into Ms. Sun’s house and tried to make her sign some documents. After she refused, they started to ransack her house, taking her personal belongings, including a Falun Gong book and computer. They arrested her and brought her to Mancheng County Detention Centre. On October 8th, they sent her to Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labour Camp.
Ms. Wu Yanying, a school teacher in Dongma Elementary School, Mancheng County, was taking a nap at noon on August 16th when the police searched her house and arrested her. On August 18th, she was sent to Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labour Camp for a year.
Mr. Yuan Ximan, a practitioner from Nanweizhuang Village, Shenxing Town, Mancheng County is disabled. He was arrested for discussing the facts about Falun Gong in 2008 and was sent to Baoding Forced Labour Camp by Zhang Xuebing, the leader of the 610 Office. Because he is disabled and wasn’t able to work, the camp didn’t take him. After he went home, he experienced paralysis on one half of his body and could not take care of himself. His wife had to take care of him. Just as his health began to improve, the police ransacked his house and started applying pressure to his wife. His wife left him because of it.
Ms. Shi Lihuan, a practitioner from Dagudian Village, Mancheng County, was persecuted by the Nanhan Township Police several times. Her husband was also sent to a forced labour camp because he is a practitioner. For several years her husband was homeless. On August 16th, She was arrested at home by several police officers and taken to Baoding Brainwashing Centre. Her house was ransacked that day too.
Ms. Yin Shumei and Ms. Liu Lan, practitioners from Mancheng County, were also arrested that day. They are being persecuted in Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labour Camp.
