On December 6th, 2010, practitioner Liu Jimei and her 95-year-old mother were reported to the police while they were putting up stickers exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. Liu Jimei was arrested by officers from Liuzhentun Township Police Station. Later, a group of people led by Cheng Weifeng and Li Changhong from the Domestic Security Bureau of Huaiyang County ransacked Liu Jimei's home. They detained Liu Jimei for 15 days.
On the morning of December 6th, 2010, Liu Jimei drove her 95-year-old mother to the county seat. Along the way they put up stickers exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. After 12:00 p.m., she took her mother home and returned to her own house taking another road, putting up more stickers on the way. After 2:00 p.m., someone reported her to the police. She was arrested by police from the Liuzhentun Township Police Station and taken by several officers to the police station. When Cheng Weifeng and Li Changhong arrived at the station, Cheng Weifeng forcefully slapped Liu Jimei. Later, they went to the police department. Li Changhong asked Liu Jimei several times who gave her the Falun Gong materials. Liu Jimei said that she did not know who placed them outside her door.
At around 4:00 p.m., Cheng Weifeng and Li Changhong brought a group of policemen to ransack Liu Jimei's house. Her husband refused to let them in. Cheng Weifeng and Li Changhong said that they were from the Domestic Security Bureau of the Huaiyang County and they were there at the direction of personnel from the Village Council. They said that his wife had put up Falun Gong materials and was being detained. After they forced their way in, they started to ransack the house. They took away a copy of the Falun Gong book, Zhuan Falun.
At around 8:00 a.m. on December 21st, Liu Jimei returned home after being detained for 15 days.
After Liu Jimei's mother heard that her daughter was arrested by the police, she comforted her friends and family and said: “Do not worry. What my daughter did was the best. She was helping people know the truth about the evilness of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).” She also said: “Even though I am 95 years old now, I can cook and eat by myself. My good health is given by Falun Gong. Now I wholeheartedly practise Falun Gong.”
Cheng Weifeng and Li Changhong attempted to extort 1,000 yuan1 from Ms. Liu's family, but were not successful. Ms. Liu tried to get her car back, but Cheng and Li have refused to return it.
