The Manager of a Farm Machinery Company Picked Up by the Authorities on a Train

On March 25th, Mr. Peng Yunchang and his wife, Wu Jilan, who is not a practitioner of Falun Gong, took the 5018 train, which runs from Yantai City to Fei City, to visit his ill mother. Mr. Peng explained the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong to people as the train was passing Zhu City. The police on the train searched and beat Mr. Peng and his wife and took him to Jinan Railroad Public Security Office detention centre.

Mr. Peng was sitting in the tenth compartment of the 5018 train talking to passengers about Falun Gong. At around 2 p.m., two police officer came in, searched him, and attempted to arrest him. When he tried to explain the facts of Falun Gong to them, they beat him. When one of the officers, who was in his 40s, searched Mr. Peng's luggage, Mr. Peng asked them to show him a search warrant. The officer claimed, “I am the permission.”

When the police were beating Mr. Peng, his wife tried to stop them, so they beat her, too, causing many injuries to her arms and the rest of her body.

At 8 p.m., the police took Peng Yunchang to the Jinan Railroad Public Security Office detention centre.
At 1 p.m. on March 26th, four policemen from the Jinan Railroad Public Security Office went to Fei County. 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) agents from the Fei County Public Security Office and director Zhou from the Fei County Railroad police office went to Mr. Peng's home in Fei County and delivered the “Notification of detention by the Jinan Railroad Public Security Office” to his family. They also ransacked his home.

Mr. Peng was once the chief of Fei County Earthquake Bureau and the assistant director of the Science Committee. After the Falun Gong persecution began in 1999, he was detained for a month, his home was ransacked, and he was tortured in a brainwashing centre. Later he was reassigned to a lower position as the assistant manager of a farm machinery company.

In 2005, Mr. Peng was sentenced by the Fei County 610 Office officials to three years of forced labour. He was detained at the Wang Chun Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province.
