Mr. Song Zhiyu from Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, was tried in the Hailaer District, Hulunbeier City, Inner Mongolia, on April 14th. On April 12th, several members of Mr. Song's family started out for Inner Mongolia to be present at his trial. On the morning of April 13th, these family members still had contact with other family members at home. After 10 a.m. that, however, they could not be reached on their mobile phones, and their family members at home did not know where they were.
The relatives who are waiting at home are very anxious. Mr. Song’s parents are very upset, not only because their son was on trial, but also because their daughter, daughter-in-law, and other family members are now missing. Currently, they have no information about the outcome of their son’s trial. Mr. Song was released three months ago after being detained for two years. He and his wife were just married, and they would be celebrating a first wedding anniversary at the end of this year. A few days ago, Mr. Song went to Beijing on a business trip. He was arrested by the Beijing police the night of his arrival and sent to to Hailaer, Inner Mongolia. Mr. Song bought a laptop for Mr. Wang Yaheng, who is also from Hailaer, and publicised the fact that Zhang Xuzeng from the Hailaer Domestic Security Team harassed Mr. Wang Yaheng many times. The police issued an on-line warrant against Mr. Song, which resulted in his being arrested in Beijing. Now his parents are very anxious and ill with worry.
