Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jia Liyuan and Ms. Zhang Guiping were arrested by the police on May 28th. The details are under investigation.

Ms. Jia Liyuan, 49, had been arrested by the Qianan Domestic Security Division Police several times before. Once the police poured boiling water on her face and used other cruel methods to torture her.

The following are her persecution experiences.

At the beginning of the Chinese Communist Party persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Jia Liyuan was taken to the domestic security division by the police from Xiaguanying Town. There, policeman Ha Fulong slapped her face repeatedly. She was also extorted 2,000 yuan¹ by the police.

On August 12th, 2008, Ms. Jia Liyuan was arrested by Qianan Domestic Security Division police Pu Yonglai and Tang Xueping. They also took her Falun Gong books and DVDs away. After she was taken to the domestic security division, police agents Ha Fulong, Tang Xueping, Yang Xiaoshuan, Sheng and Maobin used electric batons to shock her neck, hands, arms, chest and back. Three of the electric batons gave out during the torture session. Ms. Jia was shocked so badly that she was barely conscious. The police, then poured boiling water on her face and ears which then ran down from her face to her neck. The places behind her ears were burned so bad that they festered for a long time. Even today, the burned scars still remain.

The police cursed and shouted at Ms. Jia, then lit a cigarette and inserted it into her nostril to see whether she was still alive. After the cigarette burned out, they saw that she had almost stopped breathing so they covered her face with a piece of cloth and said, “Get ready to take her for cremation.” After a while, they saw that she had started to breathe again so four policemen carried her by pulling her arms and legs to the yard of the brainwashing centre inside the Qianan Agricultural Enforcement Division (Former Qianan City Seed Company's location). They threw her on the floor and left in a hurry. The next day, Ha Fulong went to the brainwashing centre again. When he saw her, he chided, "Aren't you dead yet?"

Two days later, Ms. Jia was detained at the Qianan City Detention Centre. Eight days later, her family was extorted 13000 yuan by the police and then she was released.
