Mr. Liu Xiaoguang, Mr. Liu Jingze, Mr. Lu Chunrong, Mr. Sui Zhaohong, and a female colleague of Mr. Liu Xiaoguang were arrested by the Shenzhen City police on June 21st.
Mr. Liu Xiaoguang, 33, is being held in the Longgang Detention Centre. His parents in Heilongjiang Province fell ill when they learned about his arrest, and both were admitted to a hospital. Mr. Liu's father had a severe heart condition and was unable to travel to Shenzhen to see his son. Instead, he asked his sister to travel thousands of miles from Heilongjiang to Shenzhen to visit him. When Mr. Liu’s aunt arrived in the detention centre, she was told that she could not see him, and that Mr. Liu was facing a minimum three-year term for practising Falun Gong.
Mr. Liu Jingze, 38, originally from Siping City in Jilin Province, is now a resident in Shenzhen. He is being held in the Meilinguan Detention Centre in Shenzhen’s Futian District. His oldest daughter, 8, is a student in Shenzhen’s Huanggang school, but officials at the school recently told her to leave school permanently. Police also told Mr. Liu’s landlord to evict his wife and two daughters. Mr. Liu’s wife currently has no income.
Mr. Lu Chunrong, 39, a native of Nanning City in Guangxi Province, is being held in the Caopu Detention Centre. Mr. Lu’s wife has no job and has to care for her 7-year-old child and two elderly parents on her own.
Mr. Sui Zhaohong’s circumstances are unknown since his arrest.
Mr. Liu Xiaoguang's work colleague is in her thirties and works at the Huawei Company. When her manager asked the police to release her and Mr. Liu, he was told that it was not possible.
