On the evening of July 20, 2011, Falun Gong practitioners went to Bürkli Platz in Zurich, Switzerland, to commemorate the practitioners tortured to death in China. They held banners exposing CCP persecution and lit candles. They wanted more people to pay attention to the issue to help stop the brutal persecution.

In the evening, Swiss TV evening news covered a similar event held in Hong Kong, marking the 12-year-long ongoing persecution. The news reported that based on human rights organizations, tens of thousands of practitioners are imprisoned in forced labour camps and prisons and more than 3,000 have lost their lives.
