The Service Center for Quitting the Party in Philadelphia held a rally on August 13th, 2011, to support the 100 million Chinese people who have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the associated organisations.
The attendees held many banners, which read, “Supporting 100 Million Chinese Withdrawals” “Quit the Party for a Bright Future,” “Chinese People: Wake Up and Recognise the Evil Nature of the CCP” and “Disintegrate the CCP - Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong.” Many local citizens were attracted to the rally. They took photos and listened to the speeches.
Dr. Yang Jingduan, a doctor of psychology from Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, gives a speech |
Dr. Yang Jingduan, a doctor of psychology from Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, spoke at the rally. He pointed out that Chinese people were fearful of the CCP, but the fear has gradually gone away after the publishing of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Chinese people see the evil nature of the CCP and have started to abandon it. Dr. Yang said that more and more Chinese are brave enough to say no to the CCP nowadays.
Dr. Yang said at the end of his speech, “While more than 100 million Chinese people have abandoned the CCP, a handful of Chinese community leaders overseas are still collaborating with the CCP for their own profit.” Dr. Yang called upon those leaders to make right decision for their futures.
George, a local citizen, speaks at the rally |
George, a local Philadelphian, said in his speech that China has a profound divine culture, which unfortunately has been ruined by the CCP. He said that many Chinese left China for freedom. As an American, George hopes that Chinese people can have freedom in their own hometowns. He was happy for those Chinese who have quit the party, because this is the best way to gain freedom spiritually.
Ms. Yang tells her own story |
Ms. Yang, a Chinese Falun Gong practitioner, gave a speech at the rally. When she was in China, she refused to renounce Falun Gong, so in October 2002, she was arrested by the Chinese police. She was locked on an iron chair for 32 days, and passed out. She was later sentenced to a three year prison term. In prison she was forced to do heavy labour 12-18 hours per day. Although she was brutally tortured, Ms. Yang did not hate the police. Instead, she still tried to clarify the truth of Falun Gong to them.
Ms. Yang called upon Chinese people not to remain silent when facing the evil tyrant power. She hopes that Chinese people will wake up, quit the party, and choose a bright future for themselves.
Dr. Nandi Matanda from South Africa passed by the rally, and gave a speech. She said that she had not previously heard about the trend of quitting the party before today, but she had just read the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and was aware of the persecution of Falun Gong. She expressed that people in South Africa have a similar experience, but they were not afraid of the evil power and fought for their rights, thus finally gaining freedom. She was glad that many Chinese people have learned the truth. She wanted to tell the Chinese people that truth can bring them freedom. She called for more attention to the trend of quitting the party and expressed hope that China will be free in the near future.
Many local citizens stopped by the rally and listened to the speeches. Some asked for more detailed information on the trend of quitting the party. Some asked for a copy the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Two gentlemen expressed that they would put what they learned from the rally on their Facebook accounts so that their friends could also learn the truth. A Vietnamese immigrant commented that he knows the evilness of the communist party. He said the best way to disintegrate it is to let more people know that truth about it. Abraham Otro was interested in the trend of quitting the party. He wanted to study the movement and asked for more information.
Several police officers came to the rally. They gave the organisers their phone numbers and said to call them if anyone tries to interfere with the rally. “We appreciate your peaceful resistance,” the officers said.
