At around 11:00 a.m. on August 3rd, the director and assistant director of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province, together with officers from Hongkeli Village Police Station, ransacked the home of Ms. Liu Tianying in Xiangyang Town, Hongkeli Village. They then arrested her and took her to the Public Security Bureau in Yilan County.

In her home, they found Falun Gong books and informational materials about Falun Gong. They put all the so-called evidence on the floor and took pictures. When Liu Tianying attempted to explain the facts about Falun Gong to them, they refused to listen. They told her to go to the Public Security Bureau with them, supposedly to take some video for their records. When she arrived, she discovered that she was to be detained.

Ms. Liu Tianying is a doctor in her village. Those who know her consider her a selfless, kind person. She is good at her work, and provides food and accommodation for patients who need to travel far to see her. As a result, many people count on her for treatment. Sometimes she is so busy that she sleeps only one or two hours a night.
