Falun Gong Practitioners from Huarong County Arrested

On September 21st, Mr. Xie Chaoyan and his wife, Ms. Yan Congxi, from No. 9 Group, Cangtai Village, Wanyu Township, Huarong County, Yueyang City, Hunan Province were arrested by officers from the County Comprehensive Management 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), including chief Chen, Zhang Hao from the Political Security Team, and Li Siqing from the local police station. They are currently detained at the Huarong County Detention Centre and Detention Station, respectively.

Since the couple began practising Falun Gong, they have learned to act according to the principle of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance. They treat their neighbours well and have good reputations. Mr. Xie and Ms. Yan are considered to be good people by their fellow villagers. Now, as their daughters are about to be married, Mr. Xie and Ms. Yan are being detained because of their belief.

Ms. Xu Xiaolian, a 50-year-old woman from Huangpeng Village, Yehedu Town, Huarong County, began practising Falun Gong because she suffered from multiple illnesses, including uterine myoma. Because of the miraculous effects of Falun Gong, Ms. Xu now maintains an uncompromising faith in the practice. On the morning of September 10th, Ms. Xu was suddenly arrested at her home by officers from the County Comprehensive Management 610 Office, the Political Security Team, Yehedu Town government, the local police station, and village cadres. She is being held at the brainwashing centre in Junshan District, where the personnel play videos that slander Falun Gong and its founder.

Ms. Xu's own experience exposes the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda about Falun Gong. In terms of physical benefits, she became completely healthy after having had many illnesses. In terms of character benefits, she went from previously coveting the smallest of profits and frequently physically and verbally abusing her husband, to becoming a good person by acting in accordance with the principle of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance. Ms. Xu went on a hunger strike to protest her detention. However, the guards chained her to a bed and force-fed her while beating her brutally.

Ms. Xiang Yuying, a retired teacher from the Huarong Second Middle School, was previously a very weak and ill person. She had brain tumours surgically removed twice and also had a hysterectomy. Despite the surgeries, once she began practising Falun Gong, she recovered completely from her ailments. She also benefited spiritually, striving to become a better person.

Ms. Xiang has been arrested many times by officers from the 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, and the Political Security Team while exposing the persecution of Falun Gong to people. On June 27th, 2010, when she was distributing materials exposing the persecution, Ms. Xiang was arrested again by the director of the local police station Wei Yuexiang, and officers Luo Jie, Zhao Xuguang, Ning Xinyun, and others. The officers also ransacked her home. Without going through the proper legal process, she was sentenced to three years in prison. Now she is held at Changsha City Women's Prison in Hunan Province.

As a result of harsh treatment in the prison, Ms. Xiang has lost her sight and hearing. She needs assistance even in walking, and her health is in critical condition.
