Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Shukun from Laizhou City, Shandong Province, was arrested at home on October 17th, by more than ten officers led by Shahe Town Political and Judiciary Committee officer Gao Pengqiang. She was first sent to the Dianzi Brainwashing Centre and then transferred to Yantai Brainwashing Centre (also known as “Yantai Legal Training Centre”). Ms. Yang is currently detained in the Zhaoyuan Brainwashing Centre. Her husband and son asked to visit her, but the regime agents used excuses to shirk their responsibilities.
Arrest
A group of officers from the Shahe Town Government of Laizhou City, Shandong Province, broke into Ms. Yang’s home on October 17th. Her husband was returning home from work and tried to stop them. Gao Pengqiang from the Shahe Town Political and Judiciary Committee said that Beijing officials ordered them to monitor and “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] Ms. Yang in the Dianzi Brainwashing Centre. Ms. Yang refused to go and shouted, “Falun Gong is good!” However, three officers held her husband while the others carried her against her will to their vehicle.
Family members asked Dianzi Brainwashing Centre to release Ms. Yang
Ms. Yang’s husband went to Dianzi Brainwashing Centre on October 28th and demanded that the officials release his wife. However, a 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) officer surnamed Cheng threatened him, saying, “We’ll arrest you right now if you don’t go away!”
Ms. Yang's husband went to Dianzi Brainwashing Centre again on November 16th with their son. They saw that the main gate was open but all the doors were closed. He asked a gatekeeper where the detained Falun Gong practitioner was. The gatekeeper said, “The centre here has been shut down and closed. The government sent her home.” He told the gatekeeper that the practitioner was his wife and she hadn’t been sent home at all. The gatekeeper had nothing to say in reply.
Ms. Yang's family went to Yantai Brainwashing Centre to find Ms. Yang, but by then she had been transferred to Zhaoyuan Brainwashing Centre.
Because Ms. Yang remained steadfast in her belief, she was transferred to the Yantai Brainwashing Centre by the Shahe Town Government without her family being informed.
In order to learn what condition his wife was in, Ms. Yang's husband and son went to the Laizhou City 610 Office on November 21st. The 610 Office is located on the 10th floor of the Laizhou City Police Department building. The Domestic Security Division is on the 4th floor in the same building.
They found out that Ms. Yang had been transferred to the Zhaoyuan Brainwashing Centre.
The Zhaoyuan City 610 Office issued an order forbidding Ms. Yang’s husband from visiting her. At the family’s urging, only her son was allowed to see her, with two guards nearby monitoring their every word.
