Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City Persecutes Falun Gong Practitioners

Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province has been persecuting practitioners that are being held there.

On June 14th, 2011, practitioner Ms. Li Xiuhong from Tonghua City started a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Division head Liu Yinghui dragged her out and sent her to the Changchun City Police Hospital on September 1st. During the two weeks that Ms. Li was hospitalised, she was tied to a bed, injected with unknown substances and force-fed. After she was taken back to the labour camp, she was force-fed two to three times a day. She has been on a hunger strike for more than five months.

Ms. Zhang Chunli, 55, a retired worker from Yushu City, Jilin Province, was forced to stand stationary every day from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. or later. By the end of the day, her legs were swollen. On the morning of October 22nd, at 5:00 a.m., guards Wang Lin and Wang Zhufeng cuffed Ms. Zhang's hand to the metal frame of a bed, and made her stand all day. When guard Duan Yajuan was on night duty, she instigated four inmates to shove Ms. Zhang down on the bed. They then cuffed her hands and feet to the bed's four corners, spread-eagle.

Inmates Jiao Keling and Jin Lirong cooperated with the guards to physically abuse practitioners in order to have their own terms reduced. They forced practitioners to stand from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and prevented them from using the toilet. The practitioners had to relieve themselves inside their cells. The glass on the cell door was covered with newspapers. Newly arrived practitioners were held separately, and forced to watch videos slandering Falun Gong.

The labour camp also hired Wang Li, Liu Shuanghui, Li Zhenjie and another unknown person who has betrayed Falun Gong, and paid them each 100 yuan¹ per day. These people physically abused and mistreated practitioners from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Ms. Cao Yuzhen, 71, was subjected to one and a half years of forced labour. At 3:30 p.m. on July 13th, guard Zhang Lihong was on duty. When she saw Ms. Cao lie down on the bed, she ordered her to sit on a small stool. Ms. Cao didn't comply. Zhang then dragged her to the guards' office, where she slapped Ms. Cao in the face and shocked her with an electric baton.

Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp also extended practitioners' terms.

Ms. Xu Guizhen, also known as Xu Ying, 46, was subjected to two years of forced labour beginning on September 15th, 2009. Her term was extended by ten days in late 2011 It was extended by another month by guards Wei Dan and Liu Yinghui, because during the New Year party held at the labour camp, she said, “Treat Falun Gong kindly, and Heaven will bless you with happiness and peace.”

The labour camp authorities use any excuse to arbitrarily extend the terms of practitioners who refuse to renounce their belief.
