Professor Chang Chinghsi, Chair of the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association, accompanied by human rights lawyer Theresa Chu, filed a lawsuit with the High Prosecutor's Office on February 16th, 2012, against Beijing Mayor Guo Jinlong for genocide and human rights violations. The lawsuit was filed during Guo's five-day visit to Taiwan. Guo gave orders to have more than 500 Falun Gong practitioners put in prison during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
Liberty Times reported about 100 Falun Gong practitioners carrying protest banners called out “Stop Persecuting Falun Gong” and “Falun Dafa is good” when Guo Jinlong entered customs at Taoyuan International Airport. The Taiwan Falun Dafa Association filed the ninth lawsuit against visiting Chinese Communist Party officials. Theresa Chu, Spokesperson for the Falun Gong Human Rights Lawyers Working Group, said the Falun Dafa Association had provided Guo's itinerary to the High Prosecutor's Office, hoping Guo would be arrested.
Guo persecuted Falun Gong when he served in different positions, including as Party secretary in Tibet and Anhui Province, executive president of the Beijing Organising Committee for the Olympic Games, and mayor of Beijing.
