Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Hui, a nurse with the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University, suffered a mental collapse after being incarcerated in Qianjin Forced Labour Camp for only three months. Ms. Wang is being held in the First Brigade of the labour camp.
Ms. Wang's father learned about his daughter's situation and is very worried. He went to the labour camp recently to visit her. The camp authorities refused to allow him to see her, as they are afraid of their bad deeds being exposed.
Ms. Wang was healthy, young, and beautiful. She was arrested at work by officers from the Songbei Police Department on January 11th, 2011. She was taken to the Harbin No. 2 Detention Centre and later sentenced to two years of forced labour. She has been incarcerated in Qianjin Forced Labour Camp.
She has now collapsed mentally and cannot take care of herself. She doesn't know how to wash or how to use the toilet. She is often incontinent. She uses the same sanitary pads for several days without changing them. She doesn't tidy up her things. She often stares at something absentmindedly. She doesn't eat much or sleep much and is emaciated.
The guards think that she is pretending and do not have any sympathy for her. Guard Fu Min beat her with a billy club. Inmate Wang Fang slapped her face and beat her. Chief guard Wang Xiaowei created many obstructions for her and forced her to do hard labour. She yells at her, swears at her, and pushes her, saying that she is playing the fool.
Ms. Wang's situation worsened due to the intense pressure. She cried, “I practise Falun Gong and I am a good person. Why does a good person suffer so much?”
Ms. Wang's husband has passed away. Her elderly parents and young child live a difficult life.
