Shulan City 610 Office Arrests Falun Gong Practitioners

The 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and police departments in several Chinese cities used the excuse of “maintaining social stability” to harass and arrest Falun Gong practitioners in March 2012 during the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) two meetings—the National Party Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. In Shulan City, Jilin Province, a brainwashing centre was set up in the Grain Bureau Guest House to detain local practitioners.

Seven officers from the Liangjiashan Township Police Station in Shulan City broke into practitioners Wang Hua and Tian Fengju's home in Xinglong Village after 6:00 a.m. on March 14th, 2012 and arrested them. They were sent to the brainwashing centre in the Grain Bureau Guest House. At the time of arrest, Wang Hua was not wearing outdoor clothes or shoes.

Mr. Yang Jianwei was arrested at work on the afternoon of March 14th. The authorities also arrested other practitioners including Mr. Zhao Yiguang's wife.

Ms. Dong Wenqian and her husband, Mr. Han Kuilin (who does not practice Falun Gong), from Jiangyan Village, Fate Township, Shulan City were arrested at around 7:00 p.m. on March 13th. According to the villagers' eyewitness report, the arrest was carried out by the Criminal Police Force of Shulan City Police Department.

Practitioner Huang Shubo from Jiangyan Village went to visit a fellow villager and practitioner Ms. Li Qingying at around 3:00 p.m. on March 5th. On his way home, Mr. Huang was arrested. Two policemen also went to arrest Ms. Li Qingying at home. However, her family held the police back while she escaped. Soon after, police chief Xia Chunlin along with ten officers and several local gang members, one named Zhao Biao, to Ms. Li's home. They broke into her home and began to beat her husband, son and brother who was visiting. Everyone was injured and bleeding. All of them were then arrested except for the four-year-old child who was left crying and uncared for.

The brainwashing centre was specifically set up by the local 610 Office in order to try to force practitioners to give up their belief. Those involved in persecuting practitioners include Li Heju, Cheng Puliang, 610 Office head Wang Hanming, 610 Office member Qu Lizhi and the police. While detained at the brainwashing centre, practitioners are put in solitary confinement, threatened, cursed at, deprived of all personal freedom including sleep and closely monitored.

Falun Gong is a spiritual discipline of the Buddha School and is based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It teaches people to improve their moral character and be kind to others. It is beneficial to society and does not pose any harm. Over the past 60 years since the CCP came into power, it has intentionally used atheism to poison the minds of the Chinese people and prevent them from believing the principle that good begets good and evil deeds are met with retribution. In each of its political movements, the CCP has manipulated people to participate in its evil deeds. It has caused the deaths of 80 million Chinese people. Their ruthless persecution of Falun Gong practitioners will be met with heaven's wrath.
