Mr. Wang Mingliang, a Highly Skilled Technician from Longkou, Shandong Province, Is Arrested

On April 11th, 2012, Mr. Wang Mingliang, a Falun Gong practitioner from Dongjiang, Longkou, Shandong Province, drove to work as usual, while his wife Ms. Huang Yan took their child to school.

Unbeknownst to him, several police officers followed Mr. Wang to his workplace at Haichen Technology. Before he entered the building, four officers shoved him down to the ground and handcuffed him. Mr. Wang resisted the arrest and shouted “Falun Gong is good!” They drove his mini-van away and held him at the Dongjiang Police Station. The police went to Mr. Wang's office on the third floor of Haichen Technology and took away DVDs exposing the persecution of Falun Gong, books and calenders from his locker.

In the meantime, more than ten officers went to Mr. Wang's home and ransacked it. Mr. Wang's elderly mother was the only person at home. Two officers restrained her so that she could not move. They opened a safe and took away many items including three checks which totaled 40,000 yuan¹, 8,000 yuan in cash, as well as computers, printers, DVD and satellite dishes worth about 20,000 yuan in value. Mr. Wang's mother was so terrified that her blood pressure shot up and she nearly passed out from fright.

Mr. Wang Mingliang is a highly skilled technician. He helped the Haichen Technology Company make a financial turnaround, as a product he developed brought the company huge profits. His wife, Ms. Huang Yan, also practices Falun Gong. Their daughter, Wang Shenglian, is about to turn six. They and the grandma lived a harmonious life together.

Mr. Wang and his wife were taken to Dongjiang Police Station, where Mr. Wang was interrogated on a torture device known as the iron chair. His wife was not released until the afternoon. When she got home, she found that her mother-in-law was gone. She also realized that their money had been stolen by the police. When she went back to the police station to ask for her money, she was turned away. With the help of some kind people, Ms. Huang finally found her mother-in-law. Now they are living a difficult life without Mr. Wang.

According to an informed source, officers from many police stations in Longkou City were following the orders of the Yantan City 610 Office(an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and Domestic Security Division when they arrested Mr. Wang Mingliang. It was said that on the same day, over fourteen practitioners were arrested, and the personal belongings confiscated by the police were worth over 500,000 yuan.
