Haikou City Police Arrest Mr. Hong Yingbao, Ms. Yang Qionglan, and Ms. Chen Xiuyun's Husband and Daughter

Without any arrest warrant, four policemen apprehended Mr. Hong Yingbao at the Harbour Bureau Market in the Xiuying District of Haikou City, Hainan Province, at about 10:30 a.m. on June 29th, 2012. Many onlookers failed to prevent police from arresting him.

Mr. Hong is currently in the No. 4 house in the brainwashing centre in the Haikou City Social Welfare Home on Haidian Island. The centre doesn't allow visits from family or relatives. Mr. Hong was arrested in 2002 and detained for one year. In 2008 he was arrested again and was detained for a month.

Zhou Yongheng, director of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and the national security division of Haikou City, organized more than 30 officers from Nanxin Police Department in Nongkeng and the police station at Licai Farm to search for Falun Gong practitioners. They divided into two groups. Eight of them went to the Licai Farm Kindergarten in Sanya City and tried to arrest Ms. Yang Qionglan. When other kindergarten teachers resisted, Zhou Yongheng threatened them, saying, “You will be the next ones to be arrested.”

Another group of over 20 officers went to the home of Ms. Chen Xiuyun in Licai Farm. They failed to arrest her because she was not at home. Instead they arrested her husband, Mr. Chen Xiangbo, and their daughter, Ms. Chen Yuhong, who also worked at Licai Farm Kindergarten. Ms. Yang Qionglan, Mr. Chen Xiangbo, and Ms. Chen Yuhong are now in the Haikou City Brainwashing Centre.
