Evil Deeds Committed by Chen Mingbo, Head of the 610 Office in Jiayu County, Xianning City, Hubei Province

Chen Mingbo, director of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Jiayu County, Xianning City, Hubei Province, has been persecuting Falun Gong practitioners since he came to office. Under his leadership, many Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested, detained and sent to brainwashing centres where they suffered continued persecution. Many practitioners were repeatedly subjected to his persecution, resulting in serious injury and pressure, both physically and mentally.

The following is a record of persecution cases of Falun Gong practitioners in Jiayu County under Chen Mingbo's leadership.

Ms. Wang Jinyan Arrested and Sent to Banqiao Brainwashing Centre

On the morning of February 28th, 2012, Chen Mingbo, director of the 610 Office in Jiayu County, Wang Furong (female), deputy director, Sun Zongwen, police officer from the national security bureau, along with two supervisors from the Jiayu Highway Bureau broke into Ms. Wang Jinyan's home and ransacked it. They claimed that they were there to stop Ms. Wang from going out to explain the facts of the persecution of Falun Gong. They stayed in Ms. Wang's home and wouldn’t leave. Tenants from downstairs called out: “Why are there so many people up there?” They later left.

On July 31st, Yin Mingming (from the Jiayu Highway Bureau), Liu Debin (chief of the Bureau), Chen Keping and Sun Zongwen (from the National Security Bureau), along with four other people, again broke into Ms. Wang's home and arrested her. Ms. Wang was wearing her pyjamas and a pair of slippers when she was handcuffed and arrested. As Ms. Wang's husband tried to stop them from taking his wife away, he received a wound to the stomach, which bled badly. They forcibly took Ms. Wang to the brainwashing centre.

Zhang Qingwen Arrested

On May 28th, police officers from the Jiayu Public Security Bureau and Dupu Police Station broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Qingwen and took away his personal property, such as his computer and printer. Zhang Qingwen was first taken to the National Security Brigade in Jiayu County and then transferred to the Banqiao Brainwashing Centre where he is still being persecuted.

Chen Haishui's Home Robbed

On the morning of March 31st, Wang Furong, Chen Mingbo, Sun Zongwen, and director Liu from Gaotie Township broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Chen Haishui and robbed his family.

Personally Directing Arrest of Xu Changxin

On February 29th, under the watchful eyes of the villagers, a large number of police officers,

including Chen Mingbo, Wang Furong, and Zhang Tianci (secretary of Xiaoma Village), broke into the home of practitioner Xu Changxin and arrested him. They took away his Falun Gong-related books and materials, and damaged his kitchenware. When Mr. Xu's family requested to see him at the detention centre, the police asked them to pay 480 yuan¹ otherwise they would not be allowed to see him. Personnel of the Jiayu 610 Office claimed that they were just following instructions from the provincial 610 Office. They boasted that they would send Mr. Xu to the brainwashing centre after they held him for 15 days. Under the intervention of Chen Mingbo and Wang Furong, Mr. Xu was sent to the Banqiao Brainwashing Centre where he was subjected to abuse.

Ms. Wang Xiaomei Arrested and Sent to Banqiao Brainwashing Centre

On May 24th, 2011, Ms. Wang Xiaomei was arrested and her home ransacked under the command of Chen Mingbo and Wang Furong. Ms. Wang was taken to the Banqiao Brainwashing Centre where she was mistreated. They also demanded two people from Ms. Wang's husband's work unit to accompany her to the brainwashing centre, and all expenses associated with the trip were deducted from his paycheque.

Ms. He Guihong Arrested and Sent to Banqiao Brainwashing Centre

On June 30th, 2010, in an attempt to arrest Ms. He Guihong, Zou Yu, Wang Ping, and Sun Qi from the National Security Division of Xianning, and Wang Furong, Chen Keping and Sun Zongwen waited for her at the supermarket where she worked. On July 1st, they went into the supermarket, handcuffed her and took her to the Quanyou Hotel in Jiayu County. At around 3 p.m., Chen Keping, Sun Qi, and Sun Zongwen held her against the bed and hit her face hard three times, causing severe swelling around her eyes, to the point that she couldn't see. They took away her keys and mobile phone, and detained her in the hotel for a day.

On July 2nd, 2012 at around 8 p.m., Chen Mingbo, Wang Furong, Chen Keping, Long Jixue (captain of Paizhouwan County Police Station), Ye Kunshan (director of Paizhouwan Centre of Stability Maintenance), and two staff members, took Ms. He to the brainwashing centre (the so-called legal education of Hubei Province). She was forced to stand for over 40 days. For 20 of those days, she had to stand for over 20 hours each day, causing severe swelling of her legs, to the point that she couldn't walk. She was also deprived of using the toilet.

Additionally, they applied a menthol-like essential balm to her eyes and force-fed her. They tied her legs onto a bench with a cloth, her hands to the handle, her body to the back of the bench, and force-fed her for three consecutive days. One of the nurses inserted a plastic tube into her mouth and nose and deliberately pulled it out repeatedly, causing a large amount of blood to come out of her nose. Her eyes were also bleeding. She was also shocked with an electric baton. After being detained in the brainwashing centre for 90 days, Ms. He was distraught, both physically and mentally. Her oesophagus and stomach were seriously injured as a result of the brutal persecution.

Ms. Chen Jinxiu's Home Ransacked by Authorities

On February 29, 2012, personnel from the Jiayu 610 Office, the county government, the Public Security Bureau, the National Security Team, the town government, the police station, and the village committee broke into Ms. Chen Jinxiu's home and ransacked it. Ms. Chen was not home at the time. They tried to arrest her sister instead, but they didn't succeed.

Ms. He Ping, a school teacher from the Experimental Primary School, and Geng Liangqin, a teacher from the Chengguan Middle School of Jiayu, were also arrested by Chen Mingbo and sent to the brainwashing center.
