Today is the third anniversary of the day when the government officials in the upper ranks of the Chinese government decided to suppress Falun Gong. In many countries all over the world, activities to rally against the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners are being held.
Falun Gong practitioners family members who are residing in Canada held a press conference at the Ottawa Capital Hill. Family members of four practitioners who are imprisoned in China requested for the immediate release of these practitioners. As far we know, in Canada there are at least fifteen Chinese families who have family members who are imprisoned because they went to China to clarify the truth about Falun Gong.
A branch of the French Falun Dafa Association held a rally and parade yesterday afternoon in Paris. The rally team set off from the Eighth District of Paris and walked towards the Human Rights Square. The slogan for the silent march was Three years of persecution, three years of courage.
The French branch of the Chinese Democratic Party also published a special article and pointed out by the end of 2001, just based on internal Chinese official statistics, there were already 1600 Falun Gong practitioners who were tortured to death. More than ten thousand people were arrested, more than six thousand people were sentenced to jail without trial, thousands of [mentally stable] practitioners were forcefully sent to mental hospitals and twenty five thousand people were forcefully sent to forced labour camps. The actual situation far surpasses these reported figures.
