Germany: Goettingen Practitioners Hold Series of Activities, Calling For an End to the Persecution that is Extending to Other Countries and Territories

The Jiang regime has persecuted Falun Dafa for over three years. Through truth-clarification efforts by the practitioners, Jiang's lies have been exposed, and more and more people and governments have spoken out against the persecution. On the other hand, the evil regime is still madly trying to extend the persecution to other countries. This has resulted in what happened recently in Germany, Iceland, Hong Kong and Cambodia. In order to clarify the truth to more people, expose the slander and gain more support from society to end the persecution, Goettingen practitioners invited churches, the Green Party, Amnesty International, the "For Threatened Nationalities" Association and other organizations to attend the "Together, End the Persecution Against Falun Gong" activities.

On August 17 2002, many practitioners from all over Germany gathered at Old City Hall Square at the centre of Goettingen and held a series of activities. The activities included an "Information Day", a press conference and a parade.

It was an election day in Germany, and different parties set up booths on the square. Thousands of people came to the square and were shocked to see the brutal and cruel tortures depicted by the practitioners' pictures. People were eager to ask for flyers and signed their names to support the appeal to Hong Kong's unfair verdict and called for the German government to save Berlin student incarcerated in China Xiong Wei from the Chinese prison.

At 1 p.m., the "SOS" parade started from the Old City Hall Square. Many local people also joined the parade because they had learned the truth about Falun Dafa from the flyers passed out in the streets and at the railway station.

A short press conference was held in front of Jacob's grand church. Many guests spoke out to praise the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" and called for the end of the evil persecution in China. After the press conference, the parade went back to Old City Hall Square, where practitioners continued to clarify the truth and promote Falun Dafa.
