Brock University is a middle-sized institution of higher education with a student enrolment of 15,000. Previously, there were only a few Chinese students in the university; however, this year the university enrolled 400 Chinese students. The goal of the school's celebration activity was to introduce the new students to the school's culture, environment, associations and clubs and encourage new students to join the multicultural environment.
Two Dafa practitioners studying in this school set up the Dafa booth early, and then Toronto practitioners joined them to spread Dafa. Western practitioner Christine had established the Falun Gong Club in early 2001 to introduce Dafa to people at the school and teach Dafa exercises free of charge.
Different Chinese and English Dafa information was available at our booth. Practitioners in golden suits demonstrated the exercises beside the booth. Many people stopped by and watched, while some talked to practitioners and expressed interest in learning [the exercises]. After listening to practitioners' description of the situation, many people signed their names on the cards that call for urgent rescue of practitioners' relatives persecuted in China. A new immigrant from China talked to practitioners for quite a while, listened attentively to the truth and the situation of the persecution in China and expressed appreciation for the Dafa materials and VCD. However, there were quite a few Chinese students who refused to accept information. Some even threw the information in the bin. Looking at these young faces, practitioners' hearts were heavy. The evil is spreading so widely and the young students are poisoned badly. We need to try hard to eliminate their misunderstanding. We hope in the new college term, these Chinese students can have the opportunity to know the truth and be freed from the shackles of the lies.
The activities lasted three days, and on the last day, practitioners demonstrated the Dafa exercises on the stage. Over 200 signatures were collected to rescue fellow practitioners in China.
