Resisting Brainwashing in Shenzhen City With Righteous Determination

A vicious brainwashing session was held at the Shenzhen Public Security Bureau detention centre, located in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. The regime called by the name of the "legal system education class," and used it to carry out ruthless persecutions against several dozen Falun Dafa practitioners. Female practitioners were kept in the 3rd and 4th brigades while the men were jailed at the 5th brigade. The 2nd brigade was reserved for torturing the practitioners. This brigade was called the "authoritarian control" class.

Over the past year, about twelve male Falun Dafa practitioners have demonstrated their unyielding belief. They continuously upheld a powerful righteous mind to resist the persecution and forced brainwashing. They always spoke out the truth. In the men's brigade, nearly all inmates gave a "thumbs-up" sign whenever Falun Gong is mentioned. They said, "Falun Gong practitioners are really outstanding, not like what's said in the TV propaganda." Following "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance" as their teacher, the practitioners refused to be treated like criminals. Practitioners started off with a group strike, refusing to participate in doing forced labour, nor responded to roll calls. In early June this year, the practitioners conducted a group hunger strike to demand their unconditional release. After nearly two weeks of going on hunger strike, the police guards forced practitioner Li Yuanqiang and Zhang Lihong into the stricter and more intensively persecuted 2nd brigade.

Dafa practitioner Liu Qun was abducted in the middle of May this year. He has been under the so-called "authoritarian control" of the 2nd brigade ever since. Liu Qun was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labour in February 2001, and was detained at the Meilin Labour Camp Second Station in Shenzhen City. After one year of detention, they illegally added another 3 months to intensify the persecution. The police used beating, solitary confinement, sleep deprivation, and other horrible means to force him to give up his faith in Falun Dafa. Liu Qun did not falter in his steadfast belief. After an additional three months, he was sentenced to indefinite imprisonment and forced brainwashing. Liu Qun continued to practise and use every opportunity to clarify the truth about Falun Gong.
