Poem: Join me on the path home

You think the knowledge you have gathered is high and great,
You think there is no truth beyond what you call Science,
You think Buddhism is the highest path to self-realization,
You think passion and desire are the source of happiness

I see the cages you are building around you,
With all that you have accumulated
Those that you call scientific knowledge
Those that you call Buddhism
Those that you call Happiness

I see the strings that are wrapping you,
With many “lovely” colors
The string of self-importance
The string of social recognition
The string of material rewards
The string of accumulated knowledge
The string of passion and desire

We cannot learn anything without being open-minded
Since we are blind, deaf and deluded
We cannot be set free without our willingness to be set free
Since we are locked up in a wheel
We cannot be awakened to the truth of the universe
Since we are in deep and hopeless sleep

We search for truth, but we are quickly wrapped up by partial truth
We search for kindness, but our own attachments replace it with judgments
We search for freedom, but our own insecurity have already imprisoned our soul
We search for passion, but the selfish heart has no room for compassion

We suffer from our own weaknesses
We suffer from our own delusions
We suffer from our own ignorance
We suffer from our own desires
But we are still searching from outside
But we are still blaming others
But we are still building our own cages
Sadly, we are still content with our positions

One day there comes a great teacher
One day the cosmic law is offered in front of your eyes
One day a group of souls are awaken
One day the great vehicle of true awakening lands next to you

You respond with apathy
You respond with suspicion
You respond with pride
You respond with fear
You respond with anger

I will send my righteous thoughts every day and night
Let the thoughts be the brightest of lightening
With all mighty force that lit up the darkest sky
Illuminate the great TRUTH like in the bright sun light
Let the thoughts be as nourishing as the earth
Embracing the true you with the gentleness of water
Flow out the most bountiful COMPASSION, endless
Let the thoughts be Ever-Lasting Strong
Bring forgiveness and patience as the medicine to heal
Accept with joy the mountain high pain with FORBEARENCE

I will be there calling you
May you break up the cage
And join me on the path home.
