In January 2000, because Falun Gong practitioners practiced the Falun Gong exercises in the morning, the police handcuffed them to the iron windows for three days. Their feet were all swollen until they became very large because of the prolonged standing.
In August 2000, in the strict control team, the police physically punished us for no reason. They forced us to stand continuously from 6:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., and used the drug addict prisoners to take turns monitoring us.
One afternoon in August 2000, Falun Gong practitioners took the chance of the prisoners' gathering and practiced Falun Gong exercises together. The police hit everyone on the head and face with police batons. They wildly beat up the practitioners, especially targeting the heads and faces of the practitioners. A very large piece of flesh on practitioner Zhou Jian's face was ripped off, and blood immediately gushed all over his face. Another practitioner, Meng Xuetao's feet were severely injured due to the beating. Other Dafa practitioners were all beaten and injured. After the beating, the police also used the police ropes [a method of tying a persons upper arms with thin ropes behind them and then pulling the rope tight over a high beam so that the persons arms are forced up in a painful and unbearable position] and other brutal torture devices to persecute Dafa practitioners. Many practitioners were injured by the police ropes.
In December 2000, in the education team, Falun Gong practitioners resisted the evil persecution and refused to sing before meals [the songs were designated by the forced labour camp authorities]. As a result, the police punished them by forcing them to stand until midnight. It was cold and they felt hungry. Two Falun Gong practitioners were forced to stand for the whole night. On the second morning, they were too tired, so they went to bed and took a little rest. Shortly after they went to bed, a policeman found them. They were then dragged out and were forced to stand again.
In May 2001, Falun Gong practitioners refused to sing again. The police dragged out all the Dafa practitioners detained into the education team to persecute them. They punished practitioners by forcing them to stand under the hot sun. It was unbearably hot there. Because the duration was too long and the weather was too hot, two practitioners fainted.
On April 30, 2001, the education team held a "Reward and Punish" meeting. At the meeting, the policemen slandered and defamed Falun Dafa. Dafa practitioners stepped forward to resist the slandering of Falun Dafa, and the police used the electric batons and police batons to madly beat and shock practitioners. Several practitioners were injured from the beating.
On one morning in early May 2001, Falun Gong practitioners practiced the exercises together when gathering. More than a dozen policemen viciously beat Falun Gong practitioners with police batons and electric batons. It was so cruel and unbearable to watch. Over a dozen Falun Gong practitioners were injured because of the beating.
Since September 18, 2001, all the Dafa practitioners resisted the evil persecution in various ways such as not wearing the prisoner's uniform, not reporting the numbers, not squatting, and not replying to the police, etc. They persisted all the way until December 19.
In December 2001, the police in all teams of the Xishanping camp gathered in the education team. The labour camp chief Long and Tian Xin plotted a new cycle of persecution against Falun Gong practitioners. Starting on December 19, in each cell, thirteen drug addicts would monitor four practitioners. Whenever the prisoners gathered for meals, two drug addict prisoners would hold one practitioner, and force him or her to squat. If the practitioner refused, they would keep hitting and kicking until the practitioner could not stand up any more. Then the two prisoners would drag the practitioner back to the cell. Even sixty years old senior citizens, were persecuted this way.
In the cells, instigated by the police, the drug addicts forced the practitioners to write the "Three Statements." [They are documents coerced under extreme pressure, torture and brainwashing, designed by the Chinese authority to ensure that detained Falun Gong practitioners be appropriately brain-washed. The statements consist of a letter of repentance, a guarantee to never again practice Falun Gong, and a list containing names and addresses of all family, friends and acquaintances of the detainee who practices Falun Gong] Practitioners who refused to write were punished by being forced to stand, sit up right, do "Kouqi," etc. "Kouqi" is a position where the body is bent at the waist at a 90-degree angle and then a cup of water is placed on the head. If the water is spilled out, one is harshly beaten and kicked. The sounds of practitioners being beaten up by the guards in the cell could be heard at any time. When practitioner Jianjun could not bend any more because of too much suffering, one guard beat him on the face with his shoes until it became swollen. Many practitioners were injured.
In addition, the police didn't allow Falun Dafa practitioners to sleep, and let the common prisoners take turns talking to practitioners in order to coerce practitioners into writing the "Three Statements." For example, one practitioner was deprived of sleep by the prisoners and then forced to write the "Three Statements." Because of the continual physical punishment and not being allowed to sleep, this person became very emaciated in just a few days.
At about 1:00 p.m. on January 18, 2002, after being beaten severely by the drug addicts and unable to bear any more, a practitioner reported to the guards. However, the section chief Liu Hua and policeman Li Zhongquan ridiculed him using foul language. The drug addicts said, "We will not be punished for beating you Falun Gong practitioners up." They also said that if they beat a drug addict the way they beat Falun Gong practitioners, they would have been at least sentenced.
The above facts are only what have been seen and heard by me, and what is written down here is only a little bit. The vicious authorities in the labour camps have tried all kinds of methods to devastate the will of us Falun Gong practitioners, and they attempted to shake our beliefs. However, rock-solid Falun Dafa practitioners have strongly resisted the evil persecution again and again.
