Her brother, Chen Jianming, is a 40-year-old technician in the production department of a farm in Hainan Province. Her sister-in-law, Li Cuiling, is a 36-year-old primary school teacher in Hainan Province. In August 1996, Chen fell from a tree and severely fractured his left arm. It cost him a lot of money to consult Western and Chinese medicine doctors and Qigong healers, but nothing helped to restore his health. His hand was so disabled that he could not even lift an empty cup. He was extremely sad. His wife searched everywhere for good doctors and medicines, hoping to find an effective prescription to cure her husband's disability. Then, after being introduced to the practice by a friend, the couple began to learn Falun Gong. After two months, Mr. Chen's disabled arm miraculously recovered. His laryngitis and heart disease also were cured and he became sound and healthy.
The miraculous effects of Falun Gong on Chen amazed the whole family, and most of his family members took up the practice. Their 72-year-old father, Mr. Chen Kangsai, had been smoking cigarettes for 50 years, and he often coughed up blood. After taking up Falun Gong, he not only quit smoking but also got rid of many other unhealthy habits. He became a new person. Seeing the changes of the family, their neighbours also began to practise Falun Gong.
Unfortunately, in July 1999, Jiang's regime launched a persecution against Falun Gong. All of a sudden, radio, TV and newspapers bombarded people with programs and reports slandering Falun Gong around the clock. Leaders at Mr. Chen's company and police officers from the police department constantly harassed his family to give up practising Falun Gong. A happy and harmonious family was thus put under great pressure. They could not understand what was going on. They went to Beijing and many other places to try to help the government rectify its mistake, and used their savings to produce Dafa leaflets to let more people know the truth. As Chinese citizens, they were only exercising the basic rights guaranteed to them by the constitution; nevertheless, they suffered severe persecution.

Ms. Chen Jianrong has tried very hard to get her parents to come to Australia. She worries about her family members' safety in China and hopes the kind people of the world can extend their help to end this brutal persecution soon.
