Clarifying the Truth to the Chinese Tourists in Europe

I left China and went to live in Europe over half a year ago, and have had many chances to clarify the truth directly to the precious Chinese people. So I want to write down some experiences of clarifying the truth that my fellow practitioners and I have had.

To clarify the truth, Dafa practitioners are not afraid of toil. In France, one Dafa practitioner has carried on doing great amount of truth clarifying activities for two years. She has two children studying in elementary school and so she has a lot of responsibilities. However, she changed her full-time job to a half-day job. Thus, she can use her spare time left to look for Chinese restaurants in order to clarify he truth to the workers, to distribute Falun Dafa newspapers and to hand out other truth clarifying materials. She works so hard that she usually goes home around 11 or 12 o¡¯clock at night. Her mother is nearly 70 years old and yet she hands out newspapers at the gates of Chinese restaurants everyday, regardless of the weather. Another Dafa practitioner, who has arrived in France recently from China, eats two pieces of toasts with an egg as lunch everyday when handing out Falun Dafa materials. She could have used the time to make money or for leisure; yet she realises the situation of Falun Dafa practitioners in China and thus places helping them as her main responsibility. Still another practitioner, who is a cleaner, insists on handing out materials in the restaurants everyday, regardless of how tired she may be from her heavy job. She eats only bread when she is hungry.

Many Chinese travel to Europe for their holidays. At many scenic spots, cars and cars full of Chinese tourists come to see the sights. So we went forth to clarify the truth to them. We let them view the pictures and photos of Falun Dafa, telling them that around 60 countries in the world allow the practice of Falun Gong. This is a part of the truth that they originally didn¡¯t know, but were glad to hear. Sometimes, after I told the truth to one of the tourists in the group, they would say to the others, ¡°The self-immolation is fake.¡± Cheated by the evil propaganda, some people didn¡¯t believe that we were Falun Dafa practitioners. Then, we would let them see the photos of us practicing the exercises. Some other people said that we had been hired to do this. We told them that if we really did that for money, wouldn¡¯t it be easier for us to throw the materials away and then take the pay? Why should we take so much effort and time to tell them the truth? One day, after hearing us tell him the truth, the person said, ¡°You are really special. I want to give you some money.¡± We told him, ¡°It is more important than anything else that you can understand Falun Gong, and know it is good. We don¡¯t want any of your money.¡± And still some others wanted to take their photos with us.

In Austria, many western practitioners practice the exercises in the parks where Chinese citizens walk through daily so that they can hand out materials to them. Some Chinese people said, ¡°How can they practice this?¡± Another answered, ¡°They can do what they like.¡± After reading the materials, one girl immediately responded, ¡°Oh, the self-immolation is fake.¡± In Austria, a 19 year-old western Dafa disciple, who has been practicing for only a year, insists on handing out the truth clarifying materials to them. Whenever she sees a Chinese tourist, she would run to them immediately, and say to them in Chinese, ¡°This is for you. It¡¯s free. I like China.¡± Sometimes, no one would take the materials; she would then say loudly, ¡°Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is righteous!¡± Then, all the people would come up to her and take the materials. She said that it was the power of Dafa. One time, she met a big group with more than 50 people, none of whom took the materials. Because she works during the daytime, she does not have much time. So she uses her half hour lunch break and her journey to work to hand out the materials to the Chinese tourists. A lot of the people like her a lot and would often take photos with her.

One time, we met an old couple in Germany. When we told them the truth, the man did not understand the incident of Zhongnanhai [Where ten thousand practitioners went to peacefully appeal in Zhongnanhai on April 25, 1999]. We patiently explained to him the true situation. His wife said, ¡°Now in China, it is extremely chaotic. In my view, Falun Gong is the best.¡±

One day, I met two Chinese people, whom were on business trip. After clarifying the truth to them, I helped them to find a Chinese restaurant, and informed them of the beautiful sight-spots and how to get there. They said that they had finally met some good people. One time, a group of people said to me, ¡°You are a Falun Gong practitioner. Get on our car and practice the exercises. It¡¯s all right.¡± So I sat in the front part of the car, and demonstrated exercise five of the Falun Dafa exercises to them. I told them that Falun Gong was not like the false reports in China, and told them that I hoped that they would read the materials I gave them. They all listened attentively.

One time, I met a large group of tourists. Some dared not take the materials. One person in the group told me, ¡°Some of them don¡¯t dare to to take them. You can give me more, and I¡¯ll hand them out after going back. We can¡¯t see the materials in China. Can you give me the book, ¡°Zhuan Falun¡± [The main text of Falun Gong]? I can¡¯t buy it in China.¡± I gave him the book. My ¡°Zhuan Falun¡± is always a new one, because people are always asking for one.

There were some who had been deeply deceived by the propaganda in China, too. One time, a group of tourists threw the materials into the garbage can. However, I met them again at another sightseeing spot. I was sitting beside the road and eating at that time. Probably because they saw that I was eating such a simple lunch, they were moved. So I said to them, what¡¯s wrong with understanding the truth of Falun Gong? This time, they were not mean. They silently left with heads lower down.

One time, after giving the materials to one group of tourists, their leader came to talk to me for a while. He said that the self-immolation was a personal act. China should not have made it such big news. So I gave him the VCD, and told him the truth of the self-immolation and explained that it was all propaganda used by Jiang¡¯s regime to fool the citizens of China and the world. I asked him to tell the truth to the people around him. I also told him the persecution that a Falun Dafa practitioner, had gone through. When I told her the story, I was almost in tears. Then, he said, ¡°I admire that you dare to tell the truth. It¡¯s difficult. I also want to be like you. They (Jiang¡¯s regime) all just dictators. They won¡¯t let the public know the truth.¡±

One day, it was raining, but I hadn¡¯t brought an umbrella. There was a car full of Chinese tourists, who did not accept the materials at that time. After they had eaten lunch, they found that I had still waited for them in the rain. So, many of them came to ask for the materials. Another time, no one from the whole group of tourists took the materials. We played the song ¡°The Fa Rectifies the Cosmos (Fa zheng qian kun),¡± sung by Gui-min Guan (a famous singer in Mainland China), and told them that Gui-min Guan also practices Falun Gong. Although they did not take the materials, they had heard the songs of a Falun Dafa disciple. Thus, having been exposed to the sun and wind of a whole summer, every Dafa disciple had a deep tan. The vendor who sells handicrafts near us often said to us laughingly, ¡°You, who aren¡¯t even been paid, are more zealous than we, who are making a living here.¡±

In the park where we often hand out the materials, there are two picture- sellers. One supports Dafa; the other often disturbed us when we were clarifying the truth. He did not listen to us when we told him the truth. I told him that the other seller was so kind and so his business was good, and there was justice in this world. However, he did not believe it, and teased me, ¡°Is it Falun Gong that helps him to have a good business?¡± Nevertheless, after a few days, one practitioner told me that he had come to understand the truth and was no longer negative towards Falun Dafa. It turned out that his business was not doing well lately¡ªwhenever he came to sell his pictures, it rained. One day, a policeman confiscated all of his things and so he was depressed, and asked, ¡°Whom did I offend?¡± the other seller, who always supported Dafa, told him, ¡°You have offended Falun Gong.¡± Then, he realized, and changed his attitude.

As Falun Dafa practitioners become more mature and as we make further progress in our cultivation, many people are willing to accept the materials we give them. One day, an official of the Embassy came to the park with two guests. A person beside me told me that he was from the Embassy. I was a bit scared. All of a sudden, the person said, ¡°you should definitely give materials to such a person.¡± I realized that this was Teacher¡¯s hint. So I gave them a truth clarifying VCD and some other materials, which they took with a smile.

Over the past few months, it¡¯s not we who look for the Chinese tourists, but they look for us. Sometimes, when I took a wrong direction in the subway, I would run into a big group of Chinese tourists at the exit. One time, I was lost and I ended up in a remote place, where I met a group of tourists. I knew that it was Teacher¡¯s arrangement for them to go there.

One day, when I was walking down the street, wearing a Falun Dafa T-shirt, I ran into a group of Chinese people. I did not bring any materials with me at that time, so I avoided them. When they saw me, they whispered to each other, ¡°Falun Gong,¡± ¡°Falun Gong.¡± Thus, I told them that I was a Falun Gong practitioner. I also told them the truth of the self-immolation, and that we are good people, we emphasis the improvement of ones morality, and that Falun Dafa is good. They listened silently with smiles on their faces.

One time, when the Austrian and German Dafa practitioners were holding an activity to introduce Falun Gong and clarify the truth of the persecution, they met a group of tourists. At that time, every one wore the bright yellow T-shirt with yellow scarves. When we gave them materials, they did not take them. Then, all of the western practitioners started to sing the song, ¡°Falun Dafa is good,¡± together. One Chinese in the group said, ¡°I have never met so many Dafa disciples, and there are so many westerners learning it.¡± I knew that this group was blessed.

Sometimes, to get more materials, the Chinese tourists would empty my bag, and ask, ¡°Is there anything else?¡± I would often leave home with a bag full of materials, and arrive back home at night with an empty bag. Although sometimes I was so tired that I could barely walk, I felt especially happy. I would have felt as if something were wrong if I didn¡¯t send out any materials during that day.

Sometimes, when my situation wasn¡¯t good, no one would take the materials. I would think of Teacher¡¯s words, ¡°If you aren't against the Communist Party, that's fine, if you aren't against so and so, that's fine, but I'll tell you this: don't be against Dafa. Why? I'll tell you the true situation¡± (¡°Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.¡±). Then, I felt like crying. How merciful and benevolent Teacher is! I know that I have to study the Fa [Law and principles of Falun Gong] more and that sometimes my mercy is lacking.

I didn¡¯t write this article for quite some time because I felt that my experiences were nothing special. There are probably many practitioners who have the same feeling. I know that what I have done is far from sufficient and that many practitioners in Mainland China are doing a lot of the work for Fa-rectification and truth clarification under such an evil environment and under such harsh pressure. I hope that those practitioners, who want to step out and whom haven¡¯t yet stepped forward, can join the great current of Fa-rectification quickly!

¡°But when someone comes to persecute the Fa, what should you, a disciple, a particle of Dafa, do? Shouldn¡¯t you let the truth be known and make people aware of the facts? This is looking at it in terms of you. You are a particle of Dafa, so you should play this role.¡± (¡°Guiding the Voyage¡± - ¡°Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. Fa Conference¡±)

¡°I think you should, as a student, a cultivator, do these things from the perspective of mercy, too. Inform people of the truth, tell them about it¡ªthis is also rescuing people¡± (¡°Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. Fa Conference¡±).
