“On December 19th, the European Parliament voted on a resolution against the Article 23 legislation in Hong Kong. The resolution passed by a margin of 59 to one, with one abstention.
On December 18th and 19th, over 50 Falun Gong followers from France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Britain, Denmark, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Ireland, Hong Kong and Taiwan held activities in front of the European Parliament. They practised exercises and held a peaceful appeal calling on the European Parliament to openly condemn the Article 23 legislation in Hong Kong.
Falun Gong followers from Ireland, Hong Kong, Denmark, Switzerland and Holland individually talked about the persecution inflicted on themselves or their families in China.
On December 19th, Falun Gong followers held a press conference in front of the European Parliament. Mr. Roger Helmer, MEP, spoke at the news conference and voiced his support for Falun Gong.
