Germany: “Journey of Falun Dafa” Photo Exhibition Enjoyed by Mayor and the Ministry of Culture

Three weeks before Christmas 2002, practitioners in the German city of Veitshöchheim held a Falun Gong photo exhibition with help and support from the city’s Mayor and the Ministry of Culture. Many people came to view the exhibition, as there were many visitors to the city’s governmental departments during this time and a Christmas market was set up outside the city government building, which is open to the public in holiday seasons.

Two Mayors attended the opening ceremony and the presiding Mayor gave a speech. He said Falun Gong has nothing to do with politics or religion, but teaches people to look within when they encounter a problem. He explained how the principle of “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” has left a deep impression on him. The Mayor understood that the Jiang regime’s persecution of Falun Gong is inhumane and should be stopped immediately, and he supported our activities to rescue Xiong Wei. He also appreciated local Falun Gong practitioners’ efforts to tell people the truth about the persecution in China. Two songs were performed at the opening ceremony, that are composed by Dafa practitioners, called “Being Saved” and “Returning Path”. Practitioners also demonstrated the five sets of Falun Dafa exercises and told visitors about the displayed photos. An official from the Ministry of Culture told a practitioner that she felt amazed by Falun Gong and she liked the practitioners’ songs. Practitioners presented her with a Dafa music CD as a gift. She wrote later, in a reply to a practitioner’s letter, “Staff members of the city government have witnessed that visitors showed great interest in Falun Gong. She was very pleased with this exhibition.”

Local practitioners also went to the city government building to demonstrate the exercises and talk about the exhibited photos to visitors on weekends during the exhibition. Many visitors took the materials that reveal the truth about Dafa and the persecution; many Germans looked at the photos and expressed that it is inconceivable that the Chinese government persecutes a practice that has brought benefits to so many people. They signed their names to a petition calling for an end to the Jiang regime’s reign of terror. One Chinese lady said that Falun Gong practitioners are great and that she never expected to be able to see a Falun Gong exhibition near her home. She felt amazed. She said that she likes to read articles on Clearwisdom.net [a Falun Dafa website] and share them with her friends. She also said her relatives and friends in China all know that Falun Gong is good, and she believed that Falun Gong would ultimately be successful in ending the persecution.

Practitioners were pleased to see that more people had learned the truth about Falun Dafa through the photo exhibition. This helped many people to see the truth behind the lies and deceitful propaganda that the Jiang regime has spread all over the world through their state-controlled media.
