Germany: Mayor of Offenbach am Main Pledges Support to Daughter of Falun Gong Practitioner Imprisoned in China
2010-09-06On July 18, 2009, 62-year-old Ji Guizhen, a Falun Gong practitioner from Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, was arrested for her beliefs. Her daughter, Xu Anlan, and other family members haven't seen her since. After being illegally imprisoned for a year, Ji Guizhen was handed a two-year labour camp sentence for possessing Falun Gong informational materials calling for the end of the persecution. -
Spanish Foreign Ministry: Administration Does not Interfere with Judiciary
2009-12-01The Spanish National Court recently indicted five high-ranking Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials on charges of genocide and torture of Falun Gong practitioners. Spokeswoman María Salcedo of Spain's General Department of Foreign Policy for Asia and the Pacific, Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, said on November 27, 2009 that Spain is a democratic country and the administration does not interfere with the judiciary. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Win Right to Protest at Paris Chinese Embassy
2009-07-22On July 18, 2009, the Paris Administrative Court issued an ordinance to rescind a Paris police ban forbidding the Falun Dafa Association of France from holding protests in front of the Chinese Embassy on July 20. The ordinance was sent to the French Ministry of Interior Affairs. Since the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, this is the very first time that the association has received permission to rally outside the embassy. -
Czech Minister Dzamila Stehlikova Expresses Support for Falun Gong Practitioners' Appea Before the Olympics
2008-08-30The Czech Minister for Human Rights and National Minorities, Mrs. Dzamila Stehlikova, sent a statement to support the peaceful 24 hour gathering of Falun Gong practitioners in front of the Chinese embassy in Prague, which they held from 7th to 8th August, on the eve of the Olympic Games in Beijing. -
Belgian MP Demands Unconditional Release of Xu Na
2008-08-25Xu Na, a Falun Gong practitioner from Beijing and a quite reputable painter, was persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) under the guise of the “Beijing Olympic Games”. Her husband Yu Zhou, a musician in the famous folk band “Xiaojuan & Co - Residents in the Valley”, was persecuted to death on February 6th, 2008, only eleven days after he and Xu Na were illegally arrested on their way home from a music concert. -
UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office Publishes 2007 Human Rights Annual Report
2008-04-01Regarding the human rights situations in China, the report stated that the UK Government has “ongoing concerns” about “the scope of the death penalty and lack of transparency in its use; torture; the lack of an independent judiciary; obstacles to fair trials; arbitrary detention, including reeducation through labour (RTL); unsatisfactory prison conditions and ill treatment of prisoners; failure to protect human rights defenders; harassment of religious practitioners; restrictive regimes in Xinjiang and Tibet; and limitations on freedom of expression and association.” -
Over 30 UK Parliamentarians Sign a Petition Calling for the Freedom of Wenjian Liang
2007-05-29A total of 34 UK MPs, Lords, and MEPs have signed a petition calling for the freedom of Wenjian Liang, who together with her husband Zhiyong Lin, have been sent to labour camps in Guangzhou in March 2007 for “illegal gathering” with six other Falun Gong adherents in her own home. Among the parliamentarians signing the petition are the Rt. Hon. Charles Kennedy MP, who was the former leader of the Liberal Democratic Party and the Rt. Hon. Lord Steel, who was the first Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament and a former leader of the Liberal Party. -

The press conference was the start of a day of activities to commemorate April 25th 1999 when Falun Gong practitioners in China appealed to the government to release fellow practitioners who were wrongfully imprisoned. This appeal was used by members of the Chinese Communist Party as an excuse to publicly launch the persecution against Falun Gong, which had previously been happening clandestinely. -

France: A French MP Appeals to the Foreign Minister to Rescue Falun Gong Practitioner Ma Jian
2007-04-14Falun Gong practitioner Ma Jian, general manager of a French PCM Pump Company for China and the north Asian region, was arrested in his Beijing office by Chinese police in February. On March 23rd, Mr. Jacques Pelissard, MP for the Province of Jura, Mayor of Lons le Saunier and Chairman of the French Mayor’s Association that represents over thirty five thousand and five hundred Mayors across France, wrote a letter to the French Foreign Minister. -
The Mayors of Slovakian Cities Protest against the Persecution of Falun Gong in China
2006-08-21During meetings, a few Mayors verbally expressed their support. The deputy mayor of Poprad, Mr. Gustav Dobak stated, that it is strange that the world has condemned fascism, but communism, which lead to at least as many victims as fascism, hasn't been publicly condemned. During a meeting with the Mayor of Kezmarok, a middle-sized tourist city in eastern Slovakia, Mr. Ingor Satlava, expressed his support by signing the petition. He also asked the representatives of the local media to help us by informing the public and support thus the human rights in the world. -
French MP Concerned about the CCP's Crime of Organ Harvesting from Living Falun Gong Practitioners

UK Councillor: “The WHO must intervene … to see that this illegal and unethical practice is halted”

Like many, I have been shocked by stories coming out of China of organ matching and transplant, without consent, from condemned prisoners. The abuses appear particularly to centre on members of the persecuted Falun Gong sect. This has been widely documented by Amnesty International and many journalists working in China." -
Germany: The Mayor of Wurth Enjoys a Falun Gong Photo Exhibition
2006-05-30The Mayor's speech praised China's traditional culture, respected the moral values of "truthfulness, compassion, forbearance" advocated by Falun Gong, and condemned the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He also hoped that the photo exhibition would bring the truth to more people. After the speeches, Falun Gong practitioners candidly exchanged views with the Mayor and reporters. -
Holland: Telling the Mayor about the Persecution of Falun Dafa
2006-05-27The mayor said, "I know all about Falun Gong. He looked at me, probably not expecting anyone in his city to practise Falun Gong. I showed him some materials about the Chinese Communist Party taking organs from living victims, including Falun Gong practitioners. He looked for a moment and said, "Too terrible, too terrible. These people are too bad; I will read this material carefully." I also told him some experiences of mine; he listened with attention. I finally said that just because of this, I have not seen my daughter for seven years. The Mayor's wife said: "This is one of the most intolerable things. Thank you for telling us your story."
