I Was Imprisoned and Persecuted Three Times at Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province

In 2000 I went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. Because I stated the truth-- "Falun Gong is truly good"--I was sentenced to one year of forced labour and taken to Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp in Zhuzhou City. Because we did not capitulate or cooperate with the authorities, we were severely tortured. Some of us were deprived of sleep for the whole night; some were handcuffed and forced to stand on their tip-toes, causing their hands to bleed; some passed out from being handcuffed; some were put in solitary confinement, and some were forbidden to use the toilet. Some practitioners went on hunger strikes to protest. The police got four to five people to hold one practitioner down and force food into her mouth with a thick bamboo tube while pinching her nose shut. -
69-Year-Old Ms. Liu Xiaolian Dies after Being Injected with Toxic Medication and Brutally Beaten in Hubei Province

In April 2006, Ms. Liu Xiaolian, 69 years old, distributed fliers with information about Falun Gong and was arrested by police informants. Police took her to a psychiatric hospital. Ms. Liu was tortured for over two years with poisonous injections and medication, high-voltage electric baton shocks and insults from male mental patients. She was released in August 2008, only when she was on the brink of death. Ms. Liu died on October 26th, 2008. -
75-Year-Old Mr. Liu Tianhou Dies in a Sichuan Province Forced Labour Camp
2008-11-03Mr. Liu Tianhou, 75, was arrested and detained ten times for his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. After he was detained, Mr. Liu's wife lost her caregiver and died on February 16th, 2008, broken-hearted. Mr. Liu died on October 27th, 2008, in Wumaping Forced Labour Camp. In 2006 police ransacked Mr. Liu's home. He was arrested and publicly tried. When court officials asked Liu Tianhou why he was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution he said, "I did what I did because I read the truth about the harvesting of organs from living practitioners in Sujiatun Concentration Camp, and it's really inhuman. I spoke out for justice for Falun Gong so that the evildoers would stop persecuting good people." He sentenced to three years of forced labour. -
Ms. Sun Yinghui Arrested and Beaten by Police in Dalian City
2008-11-03On September 14th, 2008, a dozen people broke into a shop owned by an elderly lady. Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Yinghui was at the shop and they arrested her. At the police station, the police asked her whether she practised Falun Gong and said things that slandered this spiritual practice. Ms. Sun told them that was her belief and nobody should interfere. When the police asked Ms. Sun how she obtained her Falun Gong materials, Ms. Sun realized they had searched her home and confiscated her belongings. A 610 Officer brutally beat her. Ms. Sun was in severe pain and almost lost consciousness. -
Famous Calligrapher Liu Xitong Persecuted in Shandong Province Prison
2008-11-03Mr. Liu Xitong, 56, a famous calligrapher from Shandong Province, was sentenced to four years of imprisonment by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in May 2008 in Qingdao City for practising Falun Gong. Before this, he was detained and persecuted at the detention centre in Qingdao City by CCP officials, who claimed a need to "maintain security for the Olympic Games." His family was prohibited from visiting him. Presently, he is being held in the No.1 Shandong Provincial Prison. His family went to visit him but were denied entry. Mr. Liu refused to give up his belief in Falun Gong. Because of this, he suffered inhuman torture. Mr. Liu's body and mind were seriously damaged. -
Six Years After Losing Her Husband in the Persecution, Ms. Li Shuying Dies as Result of Torture
2008-11-02In March 2002, Ms. Li Shuying, 37, was arrested by police less than a month after she was still mourning the death of her husband, who died from persecution in labour camps. She was sentenced to two years of forced labour and taken to Heizuizi Labour Camp. Ms. Li went on hunger strike for more than 100 days to protest. She was force-fed during the hunger strike. The guards used thick plastic tubes or forced rice balls into her mouth with their hands. She was also force-fed highly concentrated salt water. After all other methods were exhausted, she was given intravenous injections. Guards punched and kicked her and used electric batons to shock her. She was also tortured with the "Big Hang Up". Even after her release she was in poor health and harassed by police. Ms. Li died on October 14th, 2008. -
58-Year-Old Mr. Zhang Mingtong Dies as a Result of Torture in a Forced Labour Camp in Henan Province
2008-11-02On August 13th, 2007, police broke into 58-year-old Mr. Zhang Mingtong's home, and arrested him while sleeping, without following any legal procedures. He was sentenced to 21 months of forced labour in Henan Province Forced Labour Camp, endured numerous hardships such as brainwashing and sleep deprivation, and was brutally beaten and tortured by drug addicts and guards. He was forced to work overtime, which exceeded his physical ability, and he was starving. Mr. Zhang was tortured to the degree that he developed high blood pressure, his hands and feet were numb, and he could not take care of his personal needs. When his family picked him up in November 2007, he could not speak, was paralysed, and unconscious. At home police often came to harass him. He died on October 2nd, 2008. -
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Brought Mr. Ma's New Life to a Premature End
2008-11-02Mr. Ma Wenhe was cured of oesophageal cancer after he started practising Falun Gong. He told people that Falun Gong cured his disease. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, local officials tried to force him to write a guarantee statement to stop practising Falun Gong. He refused. Mr. Ma was detained in a detention centre. For over four years Mr. Ma was frequently harassed. He was forced to flee his home many times because of this. His employer and village officials often chased him all over the place. The mental stress as a result of several years of persecution caused his old sickness to recur. He died on October 14th, 2003. -
Mr. Kang Hong Is Sentenced to Forced Labour Again After Having Served Seven Years of Forced Labour
2008-11-02Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Kang Hong is a resident of Chongqing City. He has been sentenced to forced labour three times. He has served two two-year terms and one three-year term. On August 23rd, 2008, he was arrested again, and was later sentenced to forced labour once again. He was locked up at Xishanping Forced Labour Camp in Chongqing City. At present, both of his legs are in casts and he is unable to walk. -
Seventy-Year-Old Ms. Li Mengshu Dying in Prison
2008-11-01Seventy-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Mengshu from Jianyang City in Sichuan Province was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was inhumanely tortured in the Longquanyi Women's Prison in Chengdu City. She is currently in critical condition. Her family members are strongly demanding that she be released unconditionally. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials however, have totally ignored them. -
In Memory of Fellow Practitioner Ms. Wang Yanhong
2008-11-01Ms. Wang Yanhong was from Anlu City in Hubei Province. On September 4th, 2008, she was arrested by police and detained in the First Detention Centre in Guangshui. Ms. Wang went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She was beaten to death in the First Detention Centre for practising Falun Gong. She was 46. Those around her lost a good family member, a guardian who upheld justice and kindness, and an ambassador who spread the blessings of Falun Gong. -
"Re-Education Centre" in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province Administers Unknown Drugs to Ms. Zhou Shanhui
2008-11-01Ms. Zhou Shanhui, 61, has been arrested numerous times for practising Falun Gong by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials. On May 24th, 2008, they arrested her again and ransacked her home, confiscating Falun Gong books, and valuable items. One officer hit her over the head with a broom so hard that it broke the broom. At a detention centre Ms. Zhou went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The guards tied her to a chair with steel wire and force-fed her. The wire was so tight that they cut into her flesh, causing her intense pain and anguish. Later Ms. Zhou was taken to the Chengdu City "re-education centre." She went on another hunger strike and was force-fed a salty, contaminated solution and her entire body started aching immediately. The pain lasted all night and became so intense that she rolled around on the bed. -
Jixi City Court Sentences Jiang Yabin to Jail Term
2008-11-01Mr. Jiang Yabin is a Falun Gong practitioner from Jixi City of Heilongjiang Province. On October 13th, 2008, when several of his family members went to the city courthouse to appeal for his release and inform the officials about his innocence, the criminal court head Li Jiangang rejected their request. He told them, "Jiang Yabin has been sentenced to three years in jail. The sentence cannot be overturned." Mr. Jiang's family asked, "When was he sentenced? Why were we not informed?" Li told them that the sentence was issued on October 9th and that they should go to the intermediate court if they wanted to appeal. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Cruelly Tortured at the Jilin Province Prison
2008-10-31Mr. Yang Guang, a 56-year-old practitioner, was detained at the Jilin Province Prison for eight years, and subjected to all sorts of inhuman treatment, resulting in his being in critical condition many times. He was incontinent, suffered muscular atrophy, and was skeleton-like. His legs were crippled and his toes were rotten and deformed. Yang Guang has gone on hunger strike several times to protest against the persecution. He was eventually unable to walk and suffered from whole-body oedema and was unable to eat, yet the prison authorities still refused to release him for medical treatment. Around August 8th, 2008, Mr. Yang Guang was dying. The prison administration took him to the Jilin Province Railway Hospital, but forbade his family from seeing him. He died on August 25th, 2008. -
Mr. Hua Yuliang Detained in a Brainwashing Centre After Being Abused in a Labour Camp
2008-10-31Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Hua Yuliang was not released after serving his full term in a labour camp. His release date was supposed to have been August 17th, 2008. Instead, he has been transferred to the Weifang Brainwashing Centre. When he was detained in a labour camp the second time for more than a month, he was seriously injured and his blood pressure went up to 180. The head of the Brainwashing Centre Fu Jinbin harbours a lot of hatred toward Falun Gong practitioners. One time he shouted, "If you don't give up your belief, I will detain you here until you die."
