Guard Luo Guangrong, 42-year-old, is an instructor of Division Eight and also one of the most vicious guards. He often roars in meetings, saying that others must do whatever he has told them to do, even if the thing he was demanding was wrong. He often handcuffs Falun Gong practitioners to the toilet window and doesn't allow them to sleep. Sometimes, he punishes practitioners by making them sit in the hallway, facing the wall, until midnight after a long day of labour. -
Ms. Yu Xianna Suffers Brutal Persecution in Wanjia Forced Labour Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province
2007-04-13In February 2006, practitioner Ms. Yu Xianna was tied up and tortured after refusing to write the "three statements" at the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp. Team leader Guo Qiuli tied Ms. Yu's hands behind her back with ropes. Then she was hung up by the rope on a metal bar in the storage room with both legs approximately half a metre above the ground. On the night of February 9th, Ms. Yu declared all her so-called "comments and opinions," spoken or written, to be null and void. As a result, guard Cong Zhili called her to the office and beat her up brutally. Cong used her fists to thump Ms. Yu's head; Yu's vision immediately blurred and she almost fainted. Cong then beat Ms. Yu's face using her hands. Cong's hands were numb, painful, and shaking uncontrollably when she finally stopped the beating. Then she forced Ms. Yu to stand and did not allow her to sleep. -
Saved by Calling Out "Falun Dafa Is Great" after a Car Accident, Mr. Jin Xinnian Is Arrested by Investigating Officers for Telling the Truth
2007-04-13On December 21st, 2006, around 4:00 a.m., Mr. Jin Xinnian was driving. It was foggy and the road was icy and slippery. On a right turn, he lost control of the car and slipped into a seven to eight metre deep pond that was used to hold industrial wastewater. Two tyres burst after the car fell into the pond. All the passengers (including Mr. Jin) fell into the pond. Two of them were injured and one passed out. At this perilous moment, Mr. Jin thought of Falun Dafa. Together with the other workers, he shouted "Falun Dafa is great!" While they were shouting, the wrecked car door opened. When the traffic police investigated the accident, they asked how the workers were able to open such a damaged car door. Mr. Jin told the police, "When I said 'Falun Dafa is great,' the door opened by itself." Because of this, the traffic police reported Mr. Jin and he was arrested. -
Ms. Liang Xianglian and Ms. Zhou Meihua Sent to Yaojia Detention Centre in Dalian City, Liaoning Province
2007-04-13On the afternoon of March 20th, 2007, Ms. Liang Xianglian and Ms. Zhou Meihua were posting self-adhesive leaflets exposing the persecution on walls. They were followed and arrested by patrolling officers dedicated to the suppression of Falun Gong practitioners and sent to Yaojia Criminal Detention Centre. The Yaojia Detention Centre is known for its cruelty in persecuting practitioners. The police also ransacked Ms. Liang Xianglian's home and confiscated a personal computer and Falun Dafa materials. -
Information Regarding Detained Falun Dafa Practitioners in Boai County, Henan Province
2007-04-13Mr. Bian Chunyou, 51 years old, is a Vietnam War veteran. His right leg became disabled, he could no longer take care of himself, and he walks with crutches. He began Falun Dafa cultivation in 1996. After July 20th, 1999, he was persecuted and detained many times as well as subjected to illegal home searches, other terrifying experiences, and brainwashing. Mr. Bian was arrested again for distributing Dafa materials and held in a detention centre. Practitioners held there have experienced mental torment and physical abuse by having to work long hours. Mr. Bian's health deteriorated under such an execrable environment. His limbs were contorted and his already disabled legs began to suppurate, beginning near his foot and gradually moving up. Constantly working long hours, he frequently appeared to be nauseous and dizzy. -
Daqing City in Heilongjiang Province Police Arrest and Beat Local Residents for Reading Falun Gong Leaflets at Lantern Festival
2007-04-13It was March 4th, the 15th day of the Chinese New Year. Tens of thousands of residents gathered to enjoy lanterns and fireworks in Shiji Square in Dongfeng New Village, Daqing City. Over one thousand undercover police and armed police were among the crowd. Practitioners distributed free handouts that informed people about the true nature of Falun Gong among the crowd. It was quite risky. They could have been arrested if they were discovered. The police arrested some residents for reading the handouts. Several of them were sent to the Daqing City Detention Centre. The police beat them before questioning and interrogated them the whole night without allowing any of them to sleep. -
Thirteen Falun Dafa Practitioners' Deaths from Torture Confirmed in March 2007 (Photos)
2007-04-12In March 2007, it was confirmed that thirteen Falun Dafa practitioners in China died as a direct result of torture. Among these practitioners, nine died during January and February 2007 and the other four died in March. The victims were four females, with five of them over 50 years of age, and included a judge, an engineer, a trade union president, farmers, workers, credit clerks, retired workers, a young mother and ordinary residents. The youngest practitioners were Ms. Xu Hongmei from Qiqihar City in Heilongjiang Province, and Ms. Wang Hongnan from Anshan City in Liaoning Province. They were both 37 years old. Five were from Heilongjiang Province, three from Liaoning, one from Jilin, one from Shandong, one from Guizhou, one from Jiangxi Province and one from Beijing City. -
Recently Learned Facts of Persecution at Baoding Forced Labour Camp in Hebei Province
2007-04-12There was an incident in 2005, where the labour camp was confronting an "important investigation." Guards said that to deal with the investigation would take lots of money. But the labour camp was short of money at the time. In order to solve the problem, they took 200,000 yuan from the "persecuting Falun Gong fund." We have no idea how much this fund really has, but certainly it wouldn't be a small amount. Guards were heard saying that the 610 Office had a special fund for the "persecuting Falun Gong team," but the fund assigned to slave-labour production was comparatively much smaller, only ten thousand yuan in 2004 for a company detaining more than 50 practitioners. This means that guards could torture practitioners as much as they'd like without worrying about hurting them so much that the quota for slave-labour production could not be met. -
The Persecution of Practitioners from Dongli District in Tianjin City
2007-04-12Ms. Dong Guiying was arrested, detained, and locked up in a brainwashing centre about nine times between 2000 and 2006. Ms. Dong was forced to carry heavy beanbags at the Banqiao Women's Forced Labour Camp for over a month. As a result, she developed an abdominal lump and was released for medical treatment in April 2002. When she was home recovering from her illness in August 2002, a group of policemen broke into her residence late at night once again. They dragged and pushed her, and took her to the local police station. The policemen were planning to send her back to the labour camp. The policemen beat her to the floor, making her stomach hurt so severely that she was motionless. She was sent to the Dongli Chinese Medicine Hospital. Following surgery, she was diagnosed with second-stage ovarian cancer. -

My mother Cao Chunyan was arrested while she was working one month ago and is now detained in Xinglongtai Detention Centre. We are not in a mood for celebrating the New Year, and we worry about the safety of my mother every day and every night. On Chinese New Year's Eve, my grandfather and grandmother were in despair and their eyes were filled with tears. My father was anxious and silent. My younger sister, who is seven years old, and I held each other and cried. We missed our mother so much and no one was in the mood to eat. I fell asleep as I cried, and I dreamed that my mother was beaten by police with a baton. I was so scared that I cried. -
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Persecutes Falun Gong by Restraining Practitioners from Leaving China
2007-04-12The new passport law of the People's Republic of China (abbreviated as the passport law) was signed by Chinese President Hu Jintao and became effective in January 2007. Most people would think that the new passport law would loosen the control on Chinese people entering and leaving the country, but I found out that it is not this simple. A friend of mine submitted an application for a new passport and was given the following list of "Supplementary Documents required for Personal Travel Abroad" by the Port of Entry Authority of Hengshi City in Hebei Province. It is clearly written on the list that the applicant's local police station must submit documents showing that the applicant is not a Falun Gong practitioner. -
Older Practitioner Ms. Sun Houlian Persecuted to Death at the No. 2 Women's Labour Camp in Shandong Province
2007-04-1157-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Sun Houlian was from Shandong Province. In 2006, in the No. 2 Women's Labour Camp the police forced Sun Houlian to watch while they brutally tortured another practitioner. Over the course of her incarceration, she was severely traumatised mentally and physically. By the summer of 2006, Ms. Sun could hardly walk, and relied on others for being fed and using the toilet. She also lost her vision and couldn't talk. She passed away on March 16th, 2007. -
Ms. Li Fengmei Barbarically Persecuted at the Women's Prison of Liaoning Province
2007-04-11Ms. Li Fengmei, a Falun Dafa practitioner, has been detained and persecuted in the Women's Prison of Liaoning Province since the end of 2004. Both her physical body and mind have been tremendously damaged. On several occasions, she was on the verge of death. Recently, Ms. Li has been tortured by being handcuffed behind her back, and hung up. She was also shocked with electric batons and tortured in other various, cruel ways. Both her arms have been broken, and she has difficulty walking. -
Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Zhang Lianying Secretly Transferred; Family Denied Visits

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Lianying was tortured until she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. According to witnesses, Zhang Lianying suffered severe brain damage from beatings. She was a transferred from Renhe Hospital to the Tiantanghe Forced Labour Camp Hospital last Friday, on March 30th, 2007, when she was still in critical condition. The labour camp first tried to conceal the facts and lied to her family about her whereabouts. Three days later, her husband Niu Jinping went to Renhe Hospital and learned the truth. -
Belated News: Non-Practitioner Mr. Li Weiji Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison for Helping to Rescue Persecuted Falun Dafa Practitioners
2007-04-11I met Li Weiji in late August 2002 in China. He told me that his sister, Li Weixun, was severely persecuted for practising Falun Gong. He decided to return to China and rescue Dafa practitioners who, like his sister, were being persecuted. With help from two other practitioners, Li Weiji collected persecution evidence. He took me and another practitioner (whose lower spine was broken from a police beating) to the home of his wife's sister so we could write our persecution experiences. I was truly moved by his sacrificing everything in an effort to rescue practitioners. His wife's sister and her husband were later persecuted for keeping us at their home. I heard that Li Weiji was injured in a beating and was sentenced to eight years in prison.
