This painting is based on a famous poem, which has been interpreted in famous works by Gai Qi and Fei Danxu of the Qing Dynasty about a male scholar playing Guzheng. Here, the artist shows a lady playing Guzheng, a novel interpretation within the realm bounded by the poem. This gives the painting a fresh and unique sensibility. To break away from convention with creativity requires courage, especially in the world of Chinese traditional painting.

There were both tears and joy during painting. Painting took me back to a kind of memory world and I was painting my own heart, expressing my own sentiments.

I had two drawing for the art exhibition reflecting the persecution. One of them is “Unmovable”. It reveals the contrast between good and evil, telling us that a practitioner’s diamond-solid determination is indestructible. In the drawing, a beautiful girl is meditating in a park in the early morning, but is brutally beaten by persecutors. The overall drawing has soft colours. Breezes waft through the girl’s hair, forming a clear contrast with the vicious police’s brutality.

The Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance International Art Exhibition Website recently launched a German version and is now available in several languages. The exhibition shows the sharp contrast between the evil campaign of persecution against Falun Gong and the kindness of practitioners as they have continued to peacefully resist these human rights abuses. The art exhibition mainly displays western traditional oil paintings together with Chinese traditional paintings.
