• 62-Year-Old Ms. Huang Jinglan Died in 2001 as a Result of Persecution in Xuyong County, Sichuan Province

  Ms. Huang Jinglan endured a huge amount of pressure from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime, her employer, and her husband, which damaged her mental and physical health. After 1999, the persecution of Falun Dafa in China started, and Ms. Huang went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested. Guards in the detention centre and other prisoners conducted body searches, forced her to go through brainwashing sessions, extorted 5000 yuan from her, and deducted her salary and regular bonus pay. She became ill and was bedridden by the Spring of 2001. She died at the end of June 2001 at 62 years of age.

• Older Practitioner Ms. Chen Guilian Has Died, Poisoned with Drugs in Baimalong Labour Camp, Hunan Province

  Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Guilian began cultivating Falun Dafa in 1997. Her heart disease was cured, and she had been very healthy for the past ten years. On April 26th, 2007, she was arrested while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong at the Jindu Market in Zhuzhou City. She was sentenced to one year of forced labour. As soon as she arrived at the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp, she was force-fed unknown drugs for more than three months. Ms. Chen died 150 days after being arrested and only 15 days after being bailed out of the labour camp for medical treatment, at the age of 57. The torture methods used in Baimalong Labour Camp are very evil, such as injecting nerve-damaging drugs, hanging people by their handcuffs from the window frame, brutal force-feeding, forcing practitioners to stand on the legs of an upside-down wooden stool.

• Persecution of Practitioners in Hongweixing Prison, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province Between 2002 and 2006

  Mr. Yu Yongquan, 45 years old and a college graduate, died in March 2003 as a result of persecution in Hongweixing Prison. Wang Hongde, 56 years old, was incarcerated in the prison in 2002 and suffered a heart attack. The prison did not allow medical parole until Mr. Wang's hands and feet had turned blue and he was at the brink of death in April 2005. He died two weeks later. Zhang Zhong, 35 years old, died in October 2006 in the Harbin City Police Hospital. Li Lizhuang, 33 years old, was brutally tortured by ten criminal inmates. His clothes were removed and he was put into a waist high bath barrel filled with cold water. The inmates then poured cold water on his head and body. They also scraped his ribs with hard material, gagged him with dirty rags, and pulled and squeezed his private parts, which still pain him today.

• Older Practitioner Mr. Qi Tingsong Tortured to Death in Laiwu City, Shandong Province

  On October 15th, 2007, Mr. Qi Tingsong, 67, went to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in Gouli Village, Gaozhuang Town. He was arrested, and police tried to have Mr. Qi sentenced to forced labour. Mr. Qi went on a hunger strike to protest. He was rushed to Laiwu City Hospital for emergency treatment. The police refused to pay his medical costs, so the hospital stopped his intravenous drips and medications. Mr. Qi discharged a large quantity of blood from his rectum while unconscious, possibly from internal injuries. Before being arrested, Mr. Qi was very strong and healthy, with no illnesses and very optimistic and active. However, he was tortured to death in only 26 days.

• Eight Deaths due to Torture Verified in October 2007

  Torture-related deaths of eight Falun Gong practitioners were verified in October 2007. Seven of them died in September 2007, one died in October 2007. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Jiang Zemin's, [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] regime began the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, 3101 deaths due to torture or police brutality have been verified. The actual number of deaths is far more than that.

• Mr. Wu Song Died as the Result of Being Tortured in Zhongba Forced Labour Camp in Guizhou Province

  Mr. Wu Song, 43, was a Falun Dafa practitioner and the Wushe Village Chief in Pingjiang Township, Rongjiang County. He was arrested in 2005 for practising Falun Dafa and was sentenced to two years of forced labour, which he served in Zhongba Forced Labour Camp. He was tortured in the camp, causing him to suffer from stomachaches and intestinal bleeding. He was near death. The camp administration allowed his family to pick him up at the beginning of June 2007 in order to escape being held responsible for his death. Mr. Wu Song died on October 23rd, 2007. His father, in his 70s; his wife; and his son are without resources.

• Mr. Fei Zhangjin Tortured to Death in Suzhou Prison, Anhui Province; Two Other Practitioners' Lives in Danger

  Mr. Fei Zhangjin, a Falun Dafa practitioner in his 40's, was sentenced to three years in jail for his belief. He was sent to Suzhou Prison in September 2005. The prison sent him to a brainwashing centre and forced him to go through brainwashing sessions. The police ordered inmates to beat Mr. Fei using wooden sticks. For over 20 days, the sounds of wood hitting flesh could be heard from very far away. In October 2005, officer Tang Chuanyou and others used high voltage batons to hit Mr. Fei for several days. Because Mr. Fei Zhangjin would not give up his belief, he was cruelly tortured by the guards time and time again, until he became very weak. He was taken to the inmate clinic on September 23rd, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. He died at 11:30 a.m. An eyewitness saw Mr. Fei's body placed in an ambulance. The body had turned blue.

• Mr. Huang Fujin Tortured to Death in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province

  Mr. Huang Fujun was arrested by police when distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Dafa in a village in July 2007. Police detained him for nearly four months in the detention centre. Mr. Huang went on a hunger strike to protest the long detention and was tortured with force-feeding. He lost consciousness and had difficulty breathing. A large area of his skin had festered. He had multiple injuries on his body. On October 31st, 2007, guards rushed him to hospital for resuscitation. He was unconscious, but the guards still handcuffed and shackled him onto the hospital bed. Finally, they agreed to release him on medical parole. He died at home on November 6th, 2007, only three days after returning home.

• Ms. Xie Fengting from Hebei Province Died in 2002 as a Result of Police Brutality

  Practitioner Ms. Xie Fengting, 61 years old, upheld her faith after Jiang Zemin's regime began persecuting Falun Gong. One night in November 2000, police stormed into her home, punched Ms. Xie in the chest very hard. She fell down on the floor unconscious. They also took her husband into custody and cruelly beat him. Ms. Xie Fengting suffered a mental breakdown as a result. Finally, she died on February 9th, 2002, at the age of 61.

  Police Chief Li Jixiang restrained Mr. Wang in a chair and ordered four officers to tie Mr. Wang's arms and legs with rope and pull in four different directions, which dislocated Mr. Wang's shoulder. The chief said, "Torture is how we deal with Falun Gong practitioners. We torture the male practitioners using the same methods we use to torture you; for the female practitioners, we rape them." • The Body of Deng Wenyang, a Practitioner from Shanhaiguan District of Qinhuangdao City, Is Cremated

  Mr. Deng Wenyang refused to renounce Falun Gong, and as a result he was sentenced to three years of forced labour, where he was brutally tortured. On October 8th, 2007, he was tortured to death in the Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp in Baoding City, Hebei Province. The labour camp officials gave Mr. Deng's family two choices: make a secret deal or file a lawsuit. His family hired a lawyer but the camp forced Mr. Deng's case to be closed quickly.

• Ran Hengbing, 76, from Sichuan Province Dies in Detention Centre One Week After Being Arrested, His Son Still Detained

  Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Ran Hengbing, 76, lived in Jiangyou City, Sichuan Province. His son Ran Tongyi (also a practitioner) was arrested by State Security agents on October 11th, 2007. Then, Ran Hengbing was ordered by Jiangyou City State Security agents to come for questioning on October 15th, 2007, and he was arrested and detained in the Jiangyou City Detention Centre. He died under suspicious circumstances in the detention centre on October 22nd, 2007. The Detention Centre Administration refused to allow his family to visit during his detention.

• Due to the Persecution, Practitioners from Mudanjiang Teachers College Have Died and Lost Their Homes

  After being in a forced labour camp twice, not long after he was released in December 2006, Zhu Xiucheng was again seized by Mudanjiang National Security and detained in Mudanjiang Police Department for four days, where a national security officer kicked his face and cruelly tortured him, trying to force him to make a statement. The corner of his mouth was seriously injured, he could not speak, and his front teeth were knocked loose and almost fell out. Later he was force-fed during his hunger strike for resisting the persecution in the No. 2 Detention Centre. After he was detained for seven months in the detention centre, he was sentenced to five years and is now in Mudanjiang Prison. His wife, Wang Shue, has been incarcerated in Harbin Women's Prison for several years.

• Elderly Woman Dies of Fright after Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Officials Threaten to Arrest Her Daughter Again

  Ms. Peng Shiqiong, a Falun Gong practitioner in Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, has been sentenced to forced labour three times in eight years, and has been incarcerated for over six years. Even so, several days after she was released on October 7th, the authorities attempted to arrest her again. Ms. Peng said, "My mother needs me to take care of her. We can talk here. I'll never believe you again. You deceived me in 2002 with the same excuse, but locked me up. If you have something to say, let's talk here." They responded that they needed further instructions from their supervisors. They continued to harass Ms. Peng that same night and tried to send her to the brainwashing centre. Ms. Peng's mother, who has lived with anxiety and worries about the safety of her daughter over the past a few years, couldn't take it anymore. She passed away early the next morning after this incident.

• Mr. Wang Xiaobin from Shaanxi Province Died as a Result of the Persecution at Forced Labour Camp

  Mr. Wang Xiaobin, 40 years old, was a farmer and Falun Gong practitioner in Shaanxi Province. He was imprisoned twice in Zaozihe Forced Labour Camp. When he was released in November 2005, he discovered that his mother had passed away. He became mentally disordered and died in April 2007. Since 2004, the labour camp has put every newly-imprisoned practitioner into a solitary cell without a window. Three drug addict inmates monitor one practitioner in one cell. None of the four is allowed to communicate with others outside. The small cell, the darkest place in the camp, is locked 24 hours a day. The four eat, sleep, and use a toilet in this very smelly, small cell. Practitioners are only permitted three hours of sleep a day and the rest of the time have to sit on a small stool reading books that slander Falun Gong.
