Older Mr. Hu Xinzheng Henan Province Sentenced to a 5-Year Prison Term in 2007

Falun Gong practitioner Hu Xinzheng was arrested in March 2007 because of his belief in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. The officers took away books and other materials worth more than 10,000 yuan. They then framed Mr. Hu and sentenced him to five years in prison. In the detention centre and the Xinmi Prison, the police instigated criminals in the prison to verbally insult and curse him, and give him beatings. They also tortured him and forced him to undergo brainwashing. -
Ms. Song Guiyun Sentenced to Prison Again; Her Son Is Calling for Help
2011-04-26Song Guiyun was arrested on December 11th, 2010 as she spoke with people in Fuxingdi Town about Falun Gong and exposed the persecution. She was later sentenced to three years and seven months in prison. Ms. Song has been arrested many times since the Chinese Communist Party started the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999. She has been subjected to detention and sentencing many times, and has been held in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison, Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province, and the Fuxin County Detention Centre. She was detained in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison for three years. -
Mr. Xu Xiwang Arrested and Injected with Unknown Drugs
2011-04-26Mr. Xu Xiwang, a disabled practitioner, was suddenly awakened at around 5 a.m. on March 18th. The windows of his home were being pried open by officers from the local police station, 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). Over a dozen men dragged him out of bed and took him outside. He was thrown into a police car and taken to Liuji Brainwashing Centre while they ransacked his home. Mr Xu was injected with unknown drugs. He became muddleheaded and began to lose his memory. He could not walk properly, his hands began to shake uncontrollably, and he kept swaying from side to side. -
Intense Persecution in Heilongjiang Women's Prison During the Month of March
2011-04-26Just before the 2011 Chinese New Year, Wang Yali and deputy team leader Chen Dongyue severely persecuted practitioners. These two team leaders are known for being very cruel, and they terrorized practitioners both mentally and physically everyday. Ms. Dong Lingui, approximately 70 years old, has been detained in Harbin for nine years. Due to the intensified persecution in Heilongjiang Women's Prison she is in critical condition. She has a heart condition and her blood pressure is very high. Her eyes are dull and lifeless, her face is badly swollen, and she has become emaciated. -
Liu Xiaohua and Zheng Lijun of Tumen Arrested and Their Whereabouts Unknown
2011-04-26Police secretly monitored Falun Gong practitioner Liu Xiaohua’s home. They broke into her home on March 4th and arrested Ms. Liu Xiaohua, Mr. Zheng Lijun and Ms. Zhou Jujing. They took them to the Tumen Police Station. They then ransacked Ms. Liu's home. Zhou Jujing is now being detained at the Anshan Detention Centre. Liu Xiaohua and Zheng Lijun were put in handcuffs and were interrogated for 24 hours non-stop. They were not allowed to sleep, and their whereabouts are currently unknown. When Zheng Lijun was arrested, his personal savings certificate valued at around 30,000 yuan was taken by police. -
After Being Tortured in Prison for Eight Years, Mr. Ma Zhiwu Secretly Sentenced to Another Three and a Half Years
2011-04-25The Yanchi County Court in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region secretly put Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ma Zhiwu on trial on March 31st. Mr. Ma was sentenced to three and a half years of imprisonment. He appealed the sentence. Mr. Ma was sentenced to six years of imprisonment at Guanmahu Prison in Wuzhong City, from 2002 to 2008. During his eight years of incarceration, Mr. Ma was beaten severely, and tortured by means of sleep deprivation for over a dozen days, “riding an airplane." Mr. Ma was also tortured on a death bed for more than 40 days, resulting in unbearable pain in his muscles and entire body. Moreover, the perpetrators force-fed him with a kind of paste mixed with unknown drugs, dirty water, flies, and flour. -
The Manager of a Farm Machinery Company Picked Up by the Authorities on a Train
2011-04-25On March 25th, Mr. Peng Yunchang and his wife, Wu Jilan, who is not a practitioner of Falun Gong, took the 5018 train, which runs from Yantai City to Fei City, to visit his ill mother. Mr. Peng explained the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong to people as the train was passing Zhu City. The police on the train searched and beat Mr. Peng and his wife and took him to Jinan Railroad Public Security Office detention centre. Later police also ransacked his home. -
Doctor Taken Away from His Work for Eleven Years
2011-04-25Bao Guixiang, M.D., deputy director of Health and Epidemic Prevention in Dagang District, Tianjin, was dismissed from work in July 2000, per orders from Zhang Runhua, director of the Health Department in Dagang District, because of her belief in Falun Gong. She did not receive any written paperwork documenting her dismissal. Dr. Bao, a state employee with over 30 years of experience, was thus deprived of her job without being given a formal reason. She has not had a stable income for the past eleven years, and has had to live in poverty. -
Sixteen-Year-Old Practitioner Mr. Wang Yu Persecuted by Beijing's Changping District 610 Office and His School
2011-04-25On December 24th, 2010, Mr. Wang Yu, a 16-year-old practitioner, was taken to a brainwashing centre in Beijing and held for thirteen days. He was released on January 5th. At present, he is still being investigated and interrogated by the school staff under orders from the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). Mr. Wang started practising Falun Gong as a youngster. In his school, he showed his classmates and teachers the greatness of Falun Gong by his actions. At the same time, he told them the facts about Falun Gong and the unprecedented persecution of this spiritual practice. This good 16-year-old student was harassed, detained and forced to undergo brainwashing by the 610 Office. -
Mr. Liu Yong from Hebei Province Held in Baoding Mental Hospital for Almost Ten Years
2011-04-24Practitioner Mr. Liu Yong has been held in the Baoding Mental Hospital for nearly a decade. Mr. Liu Yong was brutally abused while in a labour camp and was forced to undergo brainwashing. Shortly after he was released on June 2nd, 2001, his mother cooperated with his workplace to take him to the Baoding Mental Hospital. His mother knew that her son was healthy, but because of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) pressure and propaganda, she cooperated to persecute her own flesh and blood. What a tragedy! When Mr. Liu first arrived at the hospital, he was injected with unknown drugs against his will. He almost lost his life and was in extreme agony. -
Three Falun Gong Practitioners Died As a Result of Persecution and Torture in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province
2011-04-24Three Falun Gong practitioners died as a result of brutal persecution and torture in labour camps and prisons in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province within the past few years. The practitioners are Mr. Chen Pangen, Mr. You Xinggen, and Ms. Xu Jianping. Ms. Xu Jianping, 58, started practising Falun Gong in 1998. Because of her steadfast belief in Falun Gong, she was arrested in 2005 and was sentenced to one year of forced labour. She suffered severe torture in the labour camp. After she was released, she did not recover from her injuries. She had a hard time breathing and her body was swollen. Ms. Xu passed away in September 2009. -
Authorities Attempt to Detain Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Huang Yonggui, 57, Despite Her Being in Critical Condition
2011-04-24Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Huang Yonggui was persecuted so severely that she suffered memory loss and was in critical condition. However, police officers still tried to arrest her for further persecution on March 28th. On January 8th, Ms. Huang was beaten unconscious during her arrest. Her relatives and friends worried that the police would torture her to death, so they took her out of the hospital and took care of her at home. Twenty days later, Ms. Huang regained consciousness, but not her memory. -
Wuhan City Authorities Attempt to Indict Four Falun Gong Practitioners
2011-04-24Hongshan District prosecutors in Wuhan City recently attempted to indict four practitioners, Mr. Peng Liang, Ms. Zhang Jingzhou, Mr. Liu Shehong and Mr. Ouyang Haiwen. Mr. Peng Liang and Mr. Zhang Jingzhou were arrested on December 13th, 2010, as they posted the message “Falun Gong is good” on the outer wall of the Wantong Driving School in the Dongxihu District. Plainclothes police agents who were staked out nearby made the arrest. Under the instruction of the Wuhan City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), the two practitioners were taken to the Wuhan City Police Department's Domestic Security Division, where they were subjected to sleep deprivation and beatings. They were later held in the Hongshan District Detention Centre. -
Mr. Chen Shiming Suffers Memory Loss and Physical Disability After Forced Injections of Unidentified Drugs
2011-04-23Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chen Shiming was arrested in July 2010. It was the fifth time Mr. Chen has been arrested. While he was imprisoned, he was subjected to forced injections of an unknown drug. He has since suffered from memory loss, inability to stand steadily, and he is no longer able to take care of himself. In September 2001, Mr. Chen was arrested for distributing materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. He was held at the Danling Detention Centre for more than a month, then secretly taken to the Mianyang Forced Labour Camp. He was subjected to the “half squat” torture (the victim is forced to squat down with legs apart and both arms raised forward parallel to the ground), physical abuse, detention in a small cell and forced labour. -
79-Year-Old Ms. Li Weixian Passed Away in 2007 After Repeated Abuse by the Authorities
2011-04-23The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999. Ms. Li went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in October 2000 at the age of 72. In June 2003, Ms. Li was taken to the Shangfangshan Brainwashing Centre. In May 2004, police ransacked Ms. Li's home. The police confiscated Falun Gong books. Ms. Li was terrified and was under pressure from the police and the community for a long time. It exceeded Ms. Li's limit of endurance. Her health started to deteriorate and Ms. Li passed away on June 1st, 2007 at the age of 79.
