Mr. Wang Xinchun Arrested and Tortured, His Wife Sentenced to Forced Labour and His Daughter Forced to Quit School

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Xinchun is from Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province. In the No. 2 Detention Centre of Jixi City, the guards tortured him, attempting to force him to make a "confession." As a result of the abuse, his face swelled up, his mouth bled, one could see the white of his skull, and he fell unconscious. Presently, he is receiving emergency treatment in a hospital. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution against Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Wang has suffered severe persecution while in custody four times. -
Lou District Court Officials in Yueyang City Hold Secret Court Session for Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Xue Li
2009-07-16Lou District Court officials in Yueyang City, Hunan Province held a secret court session the morning of June 30th, 2009 to try Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xue Li, without notifying any of her family members. All those who attended the hearing were personnel from the Public Security, the Procuratorate and the Court, except for Ms. Xue Li. Ms. Xue's sister-in-law got to know about the trial when she went to visit Ms. Xue in the detention centre. She then went to the court, but by the time she got there, the court had adjourned, and she had no chance to defend Ms. Xue's innocence. -
Mr. Ma Chuncheng Arrested, Denied Family Visits
2009-07-16On March 25th, 2009, police arrested Mr. Ma Chuncheng, in his thirties. His family learned that he had been detained at a detention centre. Mr. Ma's parents and his sister worried that he would be brutally tortured, and they went to the police station to request his release. They were told that they would be notified in three to twenty days.Only on April 30th, the deputy chief of the Fangzheng County State Security Division called his family to notify them that Mr. Ma had been formally arrested. They went to the Fangzheng County Police Department every day, but the police refused to release him or allow his family to see him. -
Mr. Li Hui and His Wife Detained, Their Children Threatened for Requesting the Couple's Release
2009-07-14On April 16th, 2009, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Li Hui and his wife Wang Hua were arrested by police. Police Li Hui and Yao Xiaohua tortured them into making a "confession," and then transferred them to the Gongzhuling Court. However the court officer Yue Lin returned the case to the police department due to insufficient evidence. One week later on June 16th, the police still had not released the couple and plotted to fabricate evidence to further persecute them. On June 13th, the children of Li Hui and Wang Hua went to the Taojiatun Police Station to request their parents' release. They were cursed at and threatened by the policemen there. The police even found a local legal consultant named Shi to videotape them to use as "evidence" that the couple's children were "interfering with the government." -
Two Practitioners Arrested by Yudong Public Security Bureau Officials, Ba'nan District, Chongqing City
2009-07-13Ms. Liu Tianling, over 50 years old, disappeared while travelling to her home town in Yudong on June 4th. On the morning of June 8th, a policewoman from the Yudong Detention Centre called Ms. Liu's family, verified Ms. Liu's phone number, and asked about Ms. Liu's travel plans to her home town. After confirming each question, she asked Ms. Liu's family to send her clothes to the detention centre. She also asked the family if they knew the identity of a disabled lady who accompanied Ms. Liu. On June 10th, Ms. Liu's home was ransacked by police from the State Security Bureau of Yudong. -
Ms. Yang Yucui Arrested and Taken to Banqiao Women's Forced Labour Camp in Tianjin
2009-07-09Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Yucui was arrested on May 13th, 2009 and taken to Banqiao Women's Forced Labour Camp in Tianjin. After the onset the persecution on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Yang explained the facts about the persecution at her workplace and went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. For this, her employer suspended her salary as punishment. She was later imprisoned for five years for practising Falun Gong, during which time her husband divorced her, due to social pressure. -
Severe Sentences for Practitioners from Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province
2009-07-09Nine Falun Gong practitioners from Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province have been detained, and four of them are imprisoned outside of Fengcheng City. On December 25th, 2007, Mr. Zhang Qinggui was sentenced to six years of imprisonment at Benxi Prison by the Donggang Court. On February 20th, 2006, a Fengcheng City Court judge sentenced Ms. Ma Yuxin to five years of jail. On July 3rd, 2006, Fengcheng police arrested Ms. Liu Yingmei. A Fengcheng Court judge sentenced her to three and a half years. Ms. Liu is now detained at Shenyang Women's Prison. -
Mr. Luan Ning from the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Was Again Sentenced to Prison
2009-07-08Mr. Luan Ning was recently sentenced to four years in prison in Yinchuan City, Ningxia Prefecture. Mr. Luan is currently appealing to a higher court. While Mr. Luan was standing trial at the Xixia District Court on February 24th, 2009, personnel from the Ningxia Region Political the Judiciary Committee and the 610 Office were guarding the courthouse as if they were expecting an attack from a formidable enemy! The mental and emotional anguish that Mr. Luan's mother endured during her son's long term imprisonment proved to be too much for the elderly lady and she passed away on February 27th, 2009. The prison authorities would not even permit Mr. Luan to attend his own mother's funeral. -
Four Practitioners from Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province Have Been Taken into Custody
2009-07-07On May 13th, 2009, four practitioners from the Xuanhua District of Zhangjiakou City were arrested at Liu Yongli's home. They are Yan Xiulian, Feng Yanli, Liu Yongli and Wang Minghai. Afterwards, their homes were all ransacked. However, the perpetrators were so afraid that they did not present any documents, nor did they identify where they were coming from when they were doing these wrong deeds. These practitioners' relatives don't know their whereabouts. -
Li Guochen Taken to Brainwashing Centre the Day of His Release from Labour Camp
2009-07-06Practitioner Li Guochen was arrested by the local police in March 2008. The police beat and tortured him during the entire night, leaving bruises all over his body and face, and breaking one of his teeth. He was then put in the forced labour camp for 1½ years. On the day of his release, Mr. Li was taken to the Xinglongshan Brainwashing Centre by the police and the local 610 Office personnel on June 8th, 2009. -
Five Practitioners in Chongqing City Recently Sent to Forced Labour Camp
2009-07-04Practitioner Ms. Tan Yinxiang was arrested at noon on March 16th, 2009. That night a group of three or four police ransacked Ms. Tan's home. Her daughter tried every possible way to find out where Ms. Tan was taken, but by the end of March, she still had no clue. Ms. Tan is currently jailed at the Shabao Women's Forced Labour Camp and has been sentenced for two years forced labour. Four other practitioners in the area were also arrested and sent to forced labour. -
Three Falun Gong Practitioners Secretly Sentenced in Heilongjiang Province
2009-07-04On June 18th, 2009, the Jinshantun Court of Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province secretly opened a session and gave long sentences to three Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Zhang Peixun, Mr. Zhang Yongsheng and Mr. Li Congfu were given prison sentences of nine, eleven, and eight years, respectively. It was clear that the judge intended to convict the three practitioners with a charge of interfering with the implementation of law. When the practitioners' lawyers asked which law the practitioners interfered the implementation of, the judge could not respond. The three practitioners have submitted an appeal of the unjust sentences. -
Older Practitioner Ms. Zhu Xixian Arrested and Robbed by the Police, then Forced to Leave Home to Avoid Further Persecution
2009-07-04Ms. Zhu Xixian, over 50 years old, is a practitioner from Pingjiang County, Hunan Province. Since last year, she has been arrested and detained by the police twice, and had large amounts of money extorted from her. Each time she was persecuted to the brink of death. Ms. Zhu was able to flee to freedom, but now she is forced to live away from home to avoid further persecution. -
Ms. Yuan Shuzhe Tortured at Twelfth Police Station in Tiexi District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province
2009-07-01On February 19th, 2005, police arrested Ms. Yuan Shuzhe in front of the Shijilianhua Market. At he police station, Ms. Yuan's hands were handcuffed behind her back. They stepped on her to make her squat. Then the short torturer squatted before her, and while holding her chin, asked, "Are you Yuan Shuzhe?" She would not answer. They repeatedly struck her head with full water bottles for a time until the short torturer asked again, "Are you Yuan Shuzhe?" Still, she did not answer. All three of the torturers beat her head. The two tall torturers stretched her arms upward as far as they could, inserted a needle into the tip of her right middle finger until it was about halfway in, then he turned the needle and pulled it out. -
Thirteen Practitioners Arrested and Detained by Police from Anhua County, Hunan Province
2009-06-28On June 6th, 2009, about a dozen police officers from the police station in Anhua County, Yiyang City, Hunan Province intruded into Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xiao Jianqing's house after they shut off the electricity. They arrested 20 practitioners who were having an experience-sharing conference. Since July 20th, 1999, Chen Yongsheng, the 610 Office director in Anhua County has relentlessly persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. Starting in 2001, Chen launched massive arrests of Falun Gong practitioners and ransacked their houses, taking away all their valuables. His subordinate beat practitioner Zhou Fuliang to death, yet such a perpetrator has gone unpunished.
