“Forced organ harvesting is murder and slaughter. It is shameful that it is occurring in the 21st century,” said Ivona during a cultural festival on August 28, 2016, in Warsaw, Poland.
A long time resident in Warsaw, Ivona first heard about Falun Gong nearly 20 years ago, several years before it was banned in China in 1999, “I remember it is a peaceful meditation, and practitioners follow its principles to become better people.”

The practice and its principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance have been embraced by people in more than 100 countries. But in China, it contradicts the Chinese communist theories and is viewed as a threat. This is why former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin started the suppression 17 years ago, affecting tens of millions of practitioners in China, along with their family members.
Along with many other visitors, Ivona signed a petition calling for an end to the brutality. “Please let me know what else I can do to help,” she added. “I like the peaceful exercises.”
Practitioners presented an exercise demonstration, the Tian Guo Marching Band, and a lotus flower dance during the parade. The positive energy drew attention from spectators.
Among the spectators was Monika, a member of Amnesty International in Poland. She said, “Everyone has his or her belief, and no one can force others on that.”
Shocked by the brutality, she requested additional petition forms and printed materials in numerous languages for distribution to others.

John, a lawyer from London, said he heard about Falun Gong and the persecution from the Internet as well as his friends. He understands that Falun Gong “provides health, hope, and guidance to one's life.”
He encouraged practitioners, saying, “More people need to know about the terrible things that are going on in China. Keep up the good work and more help will come.”

Mary, a Canadian tourist, signed the petition. She said, “I know Falun Gong and the persecution is wrong. People have the right to practice in China, like anywhere else.”
