Paris, France: Information Booth Draws Support for Falun Dafa at Exhibition of Mayors and Local Authorities

Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the Exhibition of Mayors and Local Authorities 2023 held November 21 to 23, 2023, at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. They played a video that teaches the Falun Dafa exercises at their booth during the event, introduced Falun Dafa and told people how the spiritual discipline is persecuted in China.

Practitioners set up a booth at the entrance of exhibition and distributed brochures. They demonstrated Falun Dafa exercises and collected signatures on a petition calling to end the persecution.

This year's exhibition had more than 1,200 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors over the three days, including mayors and other officials of local governments. Many mayors, deputy mayors, and city councilors talked with practitioners and learned about Falun Dafa and the persecution during the exhibition. Among those who received informational materials were a former French presidential candidate and MPs.

Some mayors praised practitioners and said they did a good job. They signed the petition, and encouraged them to keep up their efforts. Some mayors and association presidents left their cards and hoped that practitioners would come to their cities or associations to teach Falun Dafa. Some were moved to tears when practitioners explained how Falun Dafa is persecuted in China. Many said the persecution is unreasonable, unacceptable, and must be stopped.

Freelance Writer: The Whole World Should Know About This

Roselyne, a freelance writer, signed the petition and said, “I’m shocked that Chinese people are completely deprived of their human rights.” She said she watched a documentary about Falun Dafa on French Television Station of Arts. The film showed how the Chinese Communist regime created false stories to slander Falun Dafa, and how practitioners hijacked the television signal and broadcast the facts. She was shocked by the torture practitioners were subjected to in prison, where they were forced to work for more than 12 hours every day.

“Falun Dafa is peaceful. The persecution of it is completely unfair,” Roselyne said, “So it’s necessary to continue raising awareness. I think the whole world should know about this.”

French Surgeon Opposes Persecution

Ernest-Ken is a surgeon. Healing people and saving lives are a doctor’s vocation. He knows about the Chinese Communist regime’s crime of harvesting organs from living practitioners. He said that as a doctor whose vocation is to heal patients, he’s against this persecution and killing people.

Michel, a nurse, said people should oppose the persecution just as practitioners have been doing. “The situation will change if all people stand up to oppose it,” he said.

Richard, a young Parisian, said the persecution must be stopped.

Kamel, a businessman, said the Chinese Communist regime is a dictatorship. He said, “It’s sad that Falun Dafa practitioners are persecuted for their belief. Human rights should be respected. The perpetrators should be punished.”
