Hong Kong: Falun Gong Practitioners Hold Sit-In to Support the Lawsuit Against Jiang

On April 14, 2003, at 3:00 p.m., over a hundred Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners held a sit-in at Charter Gardens to support the lawsuit against former Chinese dictator Jiang in the United States. Hong Kong Falun Dafa Association spokesperson Kan Hung-cheung emphasised that the case is not aimed at the Chinese people or Chinese government, but aims to sift out those that harm people, so that the Chinese government's administration can become clearer and brighter, people's lives will become happier and have more freedom, and both the Chinese economy and people's livelihoods will benefit.

Mr. Kan continued to say that the main purpose of the lawsuit is to enable people to discern right and wrong, good and evil, and to rectify people's hearts.

He said that the lawsuit enables the people of the world to see clearly the brutal suppression and persecution of Falun Gong in China, and renew justice in the world so that more kind-hearted people will stand up to stop these atrocities. At the same time, vile people will receive their due punishment through a fair trial in the international court. People of justice and kindness will be protected.

When being asked if the lawsuit is good for China, Mr. Kan expressed that Jiang's crimes, including all the bad deeds he has committed against the Chinese people, are clear to all Chinese people and government officials. The lawsuit against him is affording general satisfaction to people both inside and outside of China. But because of the information blockade in China, most Chinese people don't know much about the lawsuit. Because of this, Falun Gong practitioners will try their best to let all Chinese people learn about the lawsuit.

The legal proceedings of the lawsuit have begun. On April 14, 2003, the Plaintiff's attorney provided the court in Illinois, US with evidence of Jiang's and the "610" Office's crimes. More legal proceedings will take place over the next two weeks. In the past few days, Falun Gong practitioners around the world have also been gathering in front of Chinese Embassies and Consulates to support the lawsuit against Jiang, and these activities will continue for several days.
