For two evenings, practitioners came together to hold candlelight vigils to appeal for Charles Li's unconditional and immediate release. Many people stopped and listened to the speeches. Practitioners spoke from the heart and passersby were heard saying: "Wow, I can't believe this is happening. I support everything you are doing! I will tell my friends about this too." "Thank you for telling me!" By the end of the evening, more and more people stood around to listen to the speeches of how Charles Li was being persecuted for the same thing he went back to China to expose, and how we can support the efforts to bring Jiang to Justice.
On the third day, practitioners continued their efforts and took their appeal to the front of the State House in Boston to call on the Massachusetts State Representatives to support the genocide lawsuit to bring Jiang to Justice and to appeal for Charles Li's release.
It was a beautiful day and the streets were packed with people. Across from the State House is a huge park, the Boston Commons, which was also filled with people.
Once the press conference started and the voices of practitioners echoed in the air, everyone stopped and started listening. More and more people started taking flyers and the street that was still full of noisy, moving cars turned into a quiet hum.
At the same time the press conference was happening, practitioners were in the State House continuing to clarify the truth in each and every office. They spoke to each person they came across in the offices about the lawsuit and Charles Li.
In addition, practitioners--even those that do not speak English very well--have been continuously calling the state representatives and the senators, as well as other government officials to appeal for Charles Li's and to call for their support to bring Jiang to Justice.
During the press conferences, practitioners also took the opportunity to thank the Massachusetts government and media, and all the kind-hearted people for their support.
Both Chinese and English media came to report on the events.
