Two years ago, when I was jailed in a Chinese labour camp, you were standing up and speaking out for my release. Now I am free and Im here standing up together with you to campaign for other peoples freedom. Isnt this encouraging? This shows that the righteous force for justice and human rights is expanding and the evil force of persecution has been suppressed.
The successful campaign for my release has truly shown the power of peaceful appeals. Please do not regard the regime that persecutes people as a powerful one. Please do not regard your efforts as being minor or unimportant. You are peaceful, but you are powerful! Your pens and microphones are the weapons. Your letters and remarks are the bullets. When your phone calls and letters reached the labour camps where I was held, the police-guards were really afraid, because they knew that your way of respecting human rights was correct and they knew that their crimes of torturing people had been exposed to the international community!
After my return to Ireland, I have involved myself in a series of legal cases as a plaintiff suing Jiang Zemin and other leaders of the regime that has persecuted Falun Gong. These legal cases are based upon International Conventions against Torture and the Convention against Genocide. The regime leaders have completely violated international law and Chinese law. Now human rights lawyers from Switzerland, United States etc have started to form an alliance to sue the top officials of the Jiang regime in all countries where related international laws have been signed and ratified. I believe, as all these righteous actions keep expanding, there will definitely be one day that Jiang Zemin and other criminals are brought to justice!
I have personally experienced brutal torture and evil brainwashing in Chinas labour camps. Today, the three Dun Laoghaire students situations, especially that of Mr. Feng Liu, are even more dangerous. He has been put in Dalian labour camp with no trial. I searched on our web site, which is specialized in recording all the [Falun Gong] persecution cases from China and found that five Falun Gong practitioners have been tortured to death in this labour camp. So we must use our full efforts to help them!
Today, those attending this rally include students from USI, the Union of Students in Ireland, and the Students Unions from three major universities in Dublin, TCD, DCU and UCD. They are representing all students in Ireland and they are representing the future of Ireland. Today, with all these young students sacrificing their own weekend time and enthusiastically standing up for their fellow students rights and freedom, what will the future of Ireland be? It will be a society of harmony and love with people concerned for each other and helping each other!
On behalf of all Falun Gong practitioners persecuted in China, I would like to say to all people present here, thank you for supporting to us. God bless you!
